They are putting on the last piece of track for WT on the forward tower as you read this. I can''t wait to get on this baby!

Beer, My Baby, and Coasters. Is this a great country or what?

It is so much taller then I had imagined and with those huge supports looks so much more imposing then V2.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

When I first saw it up close I couldn't believe how big it really was. I've been on Superman down the road dozens of times, but this thing just seems gigantic out there on the beach with those bigger supports.

I've been saying to myself that I might not bother riding on my first trip to CP (probably a weekend in May) so that I can get more rides in on other stuff, but Wicked Twister is sure starting to look tempting!  I can't wait to walk over there and see it all finished.  That area of the park has really been lacking for a while.

So, why are they putting a new top on Wild Thing again? ;) Seriously though, I'm really impressed on how quick this thing is going up.

Just wait till next year!
Any pics? If so send it to news!

Okay, so on the S:UE trains, on that metal bowl shaped...thing...they have the Superman Logo.  On Vertical Velocity, they have the V2 logo.  So will the Wicked Twister trains say "WT" in that space?  That'd be hilarious.

Is it the roar of Kumba or the kumba of Roar? Discuss!
If you haven't already read the latest construction diary entry, it'll be another 6 to 8 weeks just to wire the whole ride. I'm glad it's not my job:)
Man, that things gonna wobble like crazy!:)
What is the deal with some of those pics showing coaster track right on sand where the waves of the lake hit? Are they trying to wash them off? It just seems odd that they would place some track that close to the water.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
yeah really Chi Town it makes no sense why they would do that,  it looks like they have plenty of room for it on the beach.

Lake Erie flared up... a lot... that day, bringing the waves way up the beach. Before that the water was at least a hundred feet away, maybe more.

What's really weird about the beach in that area is that it never gets deep in the first place. You can go all the way out to the buoys and it might get to your chest.

I wonder if they will install some sort of barrier once the rides done for extreme situations like that one.

"Yeah, they did it in Superman 3"

I doubt it... the ride is about a hundred feet the other way, and the tops of the footers are about three feet higher than the sand. The electrical building is about five or six feet above the beach.

hehehe. I think quite a few people are eating their words right now. I haven't heard a single negative comment about WT since it actually went vertical.  ;)

But DWeaver....its JUST LIKE the coaster at SFWoA!  How could they?  I'm so mad at CP I'm never, ever going there again no matter what they build.

Oh, wait...I'll be there after SRM.  Never mind ;-)

Hey, I never dogged the ride. If CP never built another ride I'd still go there. I'm like a Cleveland sports fan, I would like it even if it sucked. :) But since they did build it and it improves upon the existing design, I will gladly use it as one less reason to visit the "other" park.

Score a floorless or sit-down looper and a nice CCI and we're good to go all the way around!

I'm right with ya, Jeff.  While I admit I was concerned about capacity I've always thought it would be a fun ride and I'm happy to see them put it on the beach.  I especially love the support placement w/ regards to the spike and the twisting...excellent foot choppers!  I can't wait to ride in June ;-)
About the water.....At this point Lake Erie is at a very low point; one of the lowest in years. If you guys think the water is close now, just wait.....
