#1. Stealth- Opening week, the train stopped at the top of the lift, and we SAT THERE in the sun for more than 30 mins, burning and burning. After getting off I was told that i could ride Xtreme Skyflyer or have an exit pass to any other ride. So I say "Ok, Top Gun", they say "It's down", I go "Vortex"- "it's down too", so I just took the ride on Sky Flyer, which was pretty fun but definately didn't make up for sitting on Stealth forever in the sun!
#2- Cal Screamin- About halfway through the launch, the LIM's shut off and we headed up the hill at around 30-35 mph, and SLAMMED into the brakes on the 1st hill. They stopped the train, on an incline, in like 10 feet! It was very loud too, not to mention it threw me agaisnt my OTSR!
#3- Aplengeist- A storm was rolling in so I thought I'd catch a last ride before it began to pour. About halfway up the lift, the ride stops. Then it begins to POUR. About 10 minutes of drenching rain went by before the op came up and reset the lift, sending us through the course during the pouring rain. It was actually pretty enjoyable after I got used to being wet, but the 1st few minutes of sitting there, helpless to get myself out of the rain was pretty damn annoying!

Funny fact: 3 Dutch Vekoma engineers can push one x-flight train to the lift from the station. But 8 SF maintence guys cant. Oh well.

The worst breakdown I have seen off ride was on Magnum on the 11th of Aug. in 01' (TD maybe it was you?)
while in line for Magnum, we heard gasps, and we looked up at the lift and a train was stuck about 3/4 the way up the lift. I thought it was due to blocking malfunction, which happens a lot, and the trains keep going in a matter of minutes. Well, the train stayed there and they had to evacuate the train. We left the queue to go somewhere else ( I believe Mantis ) and after the ride, we came back and the train was still up there with mechanics near by. The ride reopened about an 1 1/2 after the train got stuck

It isn't so bad. . .
Once you're used to it
Got stuck on MiB this December, sat for 20 min. with all the service lights on, I got to really see all the themeing that went into the street vendor areas, when the ride restarted all the cars began to spin more wildly than they do when you get "shot", they were resetting there positioning system.
I too got stuck on test track on the skid pad, and ramp.
also got stuck years ago on Spaceship Earth, right at the spot where the car turns around to head down hill, I was half turned so it was a stange angle to be sitting at for 10 min.

The worst I've heard about was a family friend that got stuck in WDW's Small World for 30 minutes. With the soundtrack on. That's enough to drive anyone postal.

1.) My friends and I were just at the top of the Whizzer at SFGAm and the train stopped moving. We were there for 20 minutes before the park management tried to push the train over the top of the lift to get the car going. After they tried that and realized that didn't work, they had us all get out and walk down and gave us some discount cupon for food or something like that.
2.) Ironically, this incident happened the same day. We were just about to get on RB and there was some type of power failure that shut the whole park down. It was kind of neat becuase every ride that was operating just stopped completely. So the park matinence had to go to each ride and try to manualy start them again. This was like this for about 30-45 minutes. Once they got everything started again, they thanked all the park guests for being patient and that was it. I couldn't imagine SF giving out cupons to over 1000 different people on each ride as it broke down.
Talk about a bad day for Great America.

I think I was there that day. Nothing seemed to be working because of the power problem.
