Germany? Who are you thinking of....Weiland Schwarzkopf? (Anton's son.) The big coaster designers are in Switzerland, The Netherlands, and USA. (Of course there are others.)

I always thought Intamin was German. I stand corrected.

Let's hope it isn't Japan or the Netherlands.

I hope the ride plans are in Clearfield, Utah.
I hope that TOGO builds them another coaster, that would be swell.

i doubt it would only take 3 days to take down a coaster unless you use a wrecking ball, which in this case should be used. Maybe BGW and Knott's are trading their defunct coasters?

HurricaneGeauga- Just in case
janfrederick could still be right. Chances are, it'll be designed by Werner Stengel, who is indeed in Germany, where the plans could indeed be right now! Whether it's B&M, Giovanola, or Intamin, he does all the design work for all their awesome coasters.

Intamin, B&M, and Giovanola are all Swiss. In fact, I think 2 (or maybe all 3?) of them are even in the same city! What did they put in the water over there? They have sure figured out to build good stuff! (Now if some other folks would just take lessons from them...:) )

Draco brings pu a good point too, a lot of the coasters are designed by Stengel and then built by B&M, Intamin, etc. You could be right!

Actually they are just tearing it down wrecking ball style. Go to http://www.westcoaster.net they have pictures of a big digger just knocking it over.
From looking at the pics, the coaster itself is being dismantled. All of the ancillary items (concrete platforms, stairs, etc.) are being demolished. You couldn't move those very easily(who would want to?). As I recall it has been sold to a park in South America, where it will be bolted and welded back together. Good luck to them!
It's going to the Junkyard Amusement Park. Look at the pics, this thing is not being handled with care.
They are taking it down fast, but I doubt it will be done by this Sunday.

They could get an earthquake; that would bring it down quick :)

Do you think that a hypercoaster could fit in the area, or put part of the "new" ride in a small area to stretch out the ride?

I knew that B&M were swiss...and that they originally worked for Intamin. I just thought they moved from Germany for some reason. Giovanola is from Switzerland? I thought they were Italian. (Then again, a third of the country speaks Italiano)

Hey, is Huss from the same town?

They will probably build a hyper, which will have it's station in the haunted shack area, and a good portion of the ride where wind jammer is. My guess is as good as yours, but I won't be surprised if is sprawling all over the park, jaguar does, and Cedar Fair is known for long coasters.
It is from Intamin. That's all I can say now. It will be quite the surprise!

What's next at Knott's? Anyone know?
I remember an old rumor, a rumor that is, the park would get an Intamin Gigacoaster with a 'Gigascrew' element - a giant corkscrew over 200ft in diameter/height!

Another rumor is a Giga Impulse Coaster with 300ft+ vertical/spiral spikes.

Switzerland - B&M, Intamin & Giovanola.
Germany - Schwarzkopf, Mack, Huss, Maurer Sohne & Zierer.
Netherlands - Vekoma & Caripro.
USA - Arrow, S&S, CCI, RCCA, GCI, Chance-Morgan, Premier, O.D. Hopkins & Setpoint.
Italy - Zamperla & Pinfari.
Russia - Pax.
France - Reverchon.
A giga impulse coaster?? I'm not sure what to think about that one. Imagine if you will, an impulse nearly equaling the size of Supreme Scream!
After getting over the strange concept, I am left to wonder how fast would this coaster have to be launched in order to be that tall? If V2 and S:UE are launched 0-70 (correct?) how fast would one this tall need to be launched? I shudder to think of the possibilities....

Well whoever gets this ride, it sucks to be them. But anyway, i don't think they could make a giga impulse. Reason- it would need alot of space just for the getting up to speed. Plus, I think it would be launched over 120mph to get up the spikes. Other people know say it could be like Millenium Force going under the streets which I also highly doubt. Personally I think it just might be something like hypersonic but with different means of acceleration. For instance Intamin could make it using LSM's. Just a thought, though.
