will we ever see anymore Arrow MegaLoopers??

I feel that the old Arrow loopers like Viper are great. They might be rather bumpy, but nothing you can't handle, but then again I get off of Flashback at SFMM wondering why everyone is complaining about roughness, jk.

The SFMM Salvi:
"Goliath Jr. looks to intense for me"
"I want to go on something more exciting than X"

I think arrow loopers are fun. The first time you ride them it is good, but if you ride it 5 or more times you are dead.  I would like to see an arrow mega looper with the smoothness of a B&M.

I love Shockwave. i love GASM. I also love TT, and I'm sure i would love Viper if i went on it. What i'm saying is that arrow megaloopers, while the layouts of some can be uninspired, provide a fun ride. lot's of people complain of headbanging etc. I usually get smooth rides, there have been exeptions, but very rarley do i get a rough ride. lot's of people will say that it's because i'm tall and my ears don't touch the OTSR. Not true. I'm only 5'6. So yes, i hope that we see more *classic* megaloopers like Shockwave, Gasm, and Viper. If not, then a 4d would be just fine.

B&M+SFGAm=3 excellent coasters.

does X invert 7 times?  you've got the raven turn, the back flip, the front flip, the other raven turn, and that's all I can think of.  if you really want, you can consider the flip going down the first hill and into the station, but that still only 6.  even though technically it isn't a mega looper, I'd consider it a mega.  can anyone confirm the above inversions?

Most everything I hear about X (which granted is strictly hearsay at this point) is that 5 inversions looks to be about the size of it.  I'll be much happier when this is confirmed since I've wondered the same thing.  By the way, thank you to those who get my "signature" joke.  I'm tired of fielding emails about how I got on X.  Hehe.  :o)

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

Arrow could make a whole new generation of mega loopers! Smoother, Newer Inversions, No headbanging!

umm i hate arguing with a few of you, including Jeff, but X is NOTHING like a classic Arrow megalooper.  im sure X will rock, but its technology, and what i put this post up for was about nostalgia...and about classifying coasters...not one company in todays industry builds one type of coaster...so you have to "neatly classify" them Jeff,.look at B&M...floorless, invert, hyper, LIM, stand up...need i say more??  so IMO, the arrow looper is a class of its own..and i personally would like to see one built again.

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!
We'll see more Arrow loopers when parks want to build one. The only thing is that nearly every major park already has a sit down looper, many of them are Arrows anyway. Some of their designs were a bit uninspired, but still have some great design elements (loops high off the ground, hangtime in the corkscrews, airtime that IMO puts B&M to absolute shame) and have proven that they can build smooth coasters. IMO, The Vortex at PKI is much better than BKF.
Personally, I hope they don't make anymore.  I hate Arrow loopers!!!  There is just to much headbanging for me.  The smoothest one that I have been on is the Loch Ness Monster!!!  Other than that, the rest pretty much SUCK!!!!
I agree nessie is pretty smooth, I thought anaconda (the only other arrow looper I have been on) was rather slow and rough. I just liked nessie more.

All at once the ghosts come back reeling you in now.
I wouldnt mind tearing down shockwave at SFGAm.  Its great but think of a new arrow looper with a record breaking inversion count.  I hope arrow has figured out how to make rides smooth.  I think they have but who knows? We will have to see with X.  If they havnt, forget the idea about a new looper.  I think people should remember that when arrows first open they arent that bad, so we shouldnt say TT is exactly better than any other arrows.

Scream your coaster opinions and ideas! Its the ThemeParkBigShot!!!
I think that if arrow fixes their roughness problem there will be more. From what I hear the TT is smooth. With X bringing the "new generation Arrow" I think there is a good chance.

Maybe you should head to Dollywood one day and walk to the back of the park. There is this coaster that you will find rather smooth and it is an Arrow Dynamics looper. I doudt you will say that it sucks. I sure would hate to know that I have drove 123 miles a few times to ride it 1027 times because it was rough.

It would be nice to see a few more Arrow Loopers spring up at parks. I wonder what a new Arrow looper would look like at Holiday World or some other park.

Yes, I do really miss the Steel Phantom and eveyone else does as well.  Despite the fun roughness, it was an excellent ride.  If Arrow starts to make their traditional loopers, then I think that they will keep the same track design.

Kennywood is my home park!!!
I'm just suprised they haven't sold any Arrowbatics!
For me the problem with the "other" Arrow loopers (before TT) was that the roughness wasn't that bad.  Until it was always transferred (multiplied?) to the ear and temple area so that they could give a real headache with multiple rides.  Believe me, I hated passing up walk-on rides for Steel Phantom on my lone trip to KW!  (The woodies all had reasonable 15-40 minute waits, but I still have a hard time believing that ANY park has THREE 70+ year-old woodies)!  SFMM's was the smoothest of the Arrow multi-inversion coasters from those I've been on, but I hardly consider coasters with 2 or 3 inversions "mega-loopers"... After TT (and potentially the Arrow-Batics, and  then X) the future of Arrow Dynamics looks bright again...finally!

Why don't they just replace the cars on ShockWave at SFGam with newer Arrow cars? That would get the headbanging problem pretty much fixed. Especially since they now use springs to keep the wheels on the track. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace ShockWave with a new and a record-breaking Arrow HyperLooper. They allready have a B&M Floorless(Batman:TR) and most of the newer styles. Though i wouldn't mind a giga-coaster in my back yard to replace ShockWave at SFGam.

I do not know about X or the Arrowbatic, but Tenessee Tornado has the same wheel assemblies as Steel Phantom, and has big old gaps in it.  The difference is in the track.  TT has beautiful curves and well thought out transitions which that loose wheel assembly can negotiate well.  Perhaps the next Arrow Looper will have wheels that remain in contact with the track.
Until they take care of some of those transitions like the turn into the block brakes, new trains aren't going to solve all of Shockwaves roughness issues.
