Will we ever see a park with 20 coasters?

I hope not. It would be nice to see a flat ride added every so often, instead of a coaster a year.

Dispite popular belief.. CP does not own that row of houses next to the parking lot with the exception of one. Mr. Kinzel's..

Regardless of whether or not that's true, so what? Everyone has a price. Same thing was said about the college I went to, and what do you know, ten years later it's twice the size it used to be.

I think the real limitation for parks are that of cost, and maintaining 20 different coasters.

I'd agree with you RollerJunky, except SFMM will continue to add coasters regardless. We may not agree or like with this tactic(I sure don't), but that doesn't change the reality. 4 coasters doesn't take as long as it used to, hell SFMM added 3 in one year.

Not saying it's never going to happen Jeff.. I'm sure it will at some point.

It's just gonna cost alot of $$ to buy out those area's.. Then of course you have the issue of where are you going ot put all your guests cars now?

It'll happen someday I'm sure..

Well of course CP will, they always have to have the "best," fastest, highest, and most of everything. *rolls eyes*

I know it will never happen, but I wish that ShockWave would go to Cp. CP lacks a Mega Looper and it would make their skyline look even better then it is. Plus ShockWave is the best coaster out there, and I could ride it again when I visit Cedar Point Every Summer :-)

Yuck, shockwave at CP :( Don't even think that!

I can't see CP buying an unoriginal coaster.. that's just so not CP.

Could CP build over the water? They built that long causway afterall. Couldn't they build something like that for a coaster. The water is only ankle deep out at the sandbar where the rope is at the beach.

Zero-G has a great point. I believe that it could happen, however there is a chance that it wont as well. Can you imagine the amount of staff you would need to consistantly run that many coasters? I would LOVE to see it happen, but I believe it might be a tad difficult for a park to run 20 coasters PLUS flats, kiddy rides, other rides, Maintenance, food services, games, retail, opperations, ect.

Sometimes a park will take out a ride or two before installing a new one. The amount of attractions depends on a lot of things, including staffing and maintenance.

I will reiterate, IT COULD HAPPEN. I just have some doubts.

Well, how about Konsai airport in Nagoya, Japan. Anyone ever seen that on TV? (Discovery did a facinating program on it) They man-made an island in the middle of the ocean to build an airport on because they didn't have any other place to put one. (Talk about a REAL space problem!) Of course, that island actually IS sinking several inches a year, but they planned on it. :)

So if Cedar Point got really desperate 50 years from now.....

I've been thinking the same thing about building into the water. Building a coaster on the lake cant be that hard, you would just need to put the footers under-water. they do the same thing with bridges.

*sigh* The whole ride on the lake thing again, huh? Cedar Point does not own the water surrounding it. It's hard to build on what you don't own. It's not a matter of construction or engineering but a matter of ownership and cost.

Is that the island made of trash?

...referring to the Konsai terminal, the "airport in the sea". I'd love to fly there once, it must just be unbelievable....have any of you buzzers been there?

Maybe that's the same problem as Maggie's having, huh...;)

Maybe Nasai has? I flew into Narita International. Not quite as thrilling, but near Tokyo.

That airport would scare me poo-less. I hate the water approaches at SFO or LAX, let alone an "airport in the sea". (Don't get me started on the approach to Kona -- I loved Hawaii and yearn to return, but I did NOT need to see all that blue around me... ;) )

For whatever reason, I'm never really *comforted* by the knowledge that directly under my butt is a "flotation device".
