Do you think the lines will be for M.F. will be shorter this year?

I'm pretty sure they will be shorter, but not actually short. There will surely be long lines for WT but MF lines will never die.

Welcome back riders, how was your ride...Enjoy your day, here at Cedar Point, America's roller coast.
I sincerely hope so!! I, for one, will be heading for the Millennium Force once they
"release the bulls" . It'll give me a chance to ride and re-ride 'The Force' a couple times before it eventually does become a two hour wait.
...that is, I'll do this the first couple times. After that, I'll wind up running to Wickid Twister just to nab a front seat first because I can bet the farm that waits for that ride will approach a couple hours or so. No where near the time Millenium Force did, that's for sure... but they will be long none-the-less because of the fact that it has limited capacity (one train, remember?)
Cynicism aside, why do you think WT would have an effect on MF's line? It's more likely to have an effect on Raptor's line, if for no other reason than geography.
Speaking personally, if I had one day to spend at CP, there are certain rides I'd be willing to sacrifice if the lines, in general, were long. MF would not be one of them.
In all honesty, upon my next visit to Cedar Point, I doubt I'll even ride WT at all. I have no interest in it being my first ride of the day(Raptor, Power Tower and MF still take that honor), and certainly will not wait 2 hours for it. I'll catch on during Coastermania if I happen to make it there this year. ;)

Olsor - guests tend to run to the newest ride first, so expect WT to have a slight drain on MF's lines in the first half of the day.
Its great that they are building another coaster. I am sure that all the older rides will be walk ons much of the time and I love that. I will probably run directly to WT though and then go to MF.
Well, when I went this past July, I waited a maximum 1 hours waitout of the 5 times we went on. And that was for the front row. I don't think that the lines are long for MF at all. It keeps on moving, and it makes it go by a lot faster.
But even so, WT will disperse a large amount of the rowd from MF.

SAVE INVADER ZIM!
Millennium Force lines weren't bad for the majority of last year. The crowds really seemed better distributed.
I agree that the effect on Raptor may very well be the most notable. To this day I don't understand why people will walk into a two-hour line just inside the gate first thing in the morning with the rest of the giant park waiting with no lines.

Simple psychology, Jeff. You see a "really neat" ride in front of you, and you MUST ride it. You cant PASS IT UP (or do your brain tells you). If you go to the park pre-conditioned to NOT ride the first thing you see, you'll be OK, but the majority of people at a park are infrequent visitors and become overwhelmed once inside that park. It's kind of like advertising. Whatever you see first, has the larger impression on you and you feel drawn to it. That's all. I myself wanted to head directly to MF my first time at CP, but hit Raptor, Bluestreak, Wildcat, and Iron Dragon on the way (although it was off-season and EVERYTHING was walk-on anyway).

My other car is now an Arrow X4D!
Yes, I jumped directly on Raptor when I first saw it in 96". Last year after reading the stratagy on "Guide to the Point", I decided to pass it by. At 10:02 the line for Raptor was backed up to the main sidewalk. I proceeded to Mantis and was riding it by 10:15 then jumped onto MF for a reasonable 40 min. wait.
WT will be in the same general area as rapter, mantis, and MF, I think the line that will shorten up the most is the magnum. I also think the line for rapter will get longer, thats what happened to mantis when MF opened.

rides on TITAN:0 so far :)
When ever you build a new ride, of course it will take make the lines shorter by a little, bacuse instead on 1,000 guest being in line for Rides A through J, those 1,000 guest will now be in line for K. Of course a new ride may draw more people to the park, so mainly the lines will be about the same.

On the other hand, if you arrive at CP early enough to where *you* are the first to ride Raptor, then it makes perfect sense to ride it before the ride does build to 2 hours. This is usually my plan, Raptor, PT and MF. I've never gone wrong.

8 hours Hulkster? What did it do, break down every 15 minutes because the cable kept breaking?
BTW, I doubt it would ever reach 8 hours, that would take up more than 1/2 of the time you can spend at the park in a single day! I just can't see that happening, at any park, on any ride, even if it was a low capacity ride like a Wildcat, and had a crew as slow and inefficient as Gwazi!

I know; that Guide was a real lifesaver for lines :)

So Hulkster, how far did the line snake around? Over past Mean Streak and towards Gemini?

If the shoe fits, find another one.
Is anyone else surprised that Hulkster was allowed to ride in March? Hell, even *I* would have waited the eight hours...I would have been the first person on it ever! ;)
