Wild West Show

What I think is really funny is this: Are we even sure that denotes the woman is gettin Bizzay in the wagon?

It reminds me of this pic someone showed me once. It was of a man and woman being 'intimate' with each other...or so I thought. It was a picture of dolphins...kinda.

The picture was shown to so many children of a certain age, and since they never had anything to compare when it came to that type of intimacy, they saw the dolphins. But since most adults do have something to compare, they saw the intimate couple.

Could be the same thing here. Maybe you don't have to explain it to your children the way you think it is. I'd look at the child and ask their thoughts. You may get a plesant suprise at what they tell you. Thats called parenting.

I SINCERELY doubt that 99% of the world feels the opposite.

Time to get out more. The rest of the world is generally appalled at how violent and accepting of violence Americans are.

I'd say are the one who needs to get out more. Where do you think the world's movies come from? It's not like American's are the only ones who flock to violent movies. Why does the rest of the world go and see these movies if they are so "appalled" by it. Please.

You are right that we are the weird ones about sex though. I agree 100%. The way the media obssessed on Janet's wardrobe malfunction was ludicrous.

But that doesn't mean that sexual references should be in a game played by lots of kids does it? How far is acceptable to you? I'm just wondering.

As for the violence thing, have you written your local theme park and complained about it? If not, why is a wild west stunt show okay there, but too violent for your taste in RCT?

Yes and those movies are appropriately rated. Go to those same countries and watch freely available television. You will see nothing like you see on American TV in terms of violence, but you will see gratutitous nudity and sexual situations.

Not sure. But I can say this isn't even close to making me uncomfortable to let my kids play. Not even the same ballpark.

No, I don't actually care. If you want me to be overly blunt and show just how free thinking I am, I think in a primal sense that murder is natural toa degree as well. But that's a whole different game.

I have no problem at all with the violence exhibited. I'm just challenging conventional thought as the average citizen seems to just react without thought as to why.

The idea that the shaking wagon and/or women's legs is something your kids need protected from is laughable to me.

Hollywood has gotten soft. Count the number of R-rated films by year and you'll see a significant decrease.

PG-13 is where the money's at. :)

Do they bring in more audiences with PG-13 rather then rated "R" ? I have no problem with the sex or the violence and on a personal level I don't care. Society is a whole differant story to me.

LG... you're sure you're a Republican? Sounds like some mighty progressive attitudes you seem to have there.

Shouldn't you be scorning us for using the word s-e-x on these internets or something?

Come... Leave the dark side... we need a shortstop. :)

Hi

No comments on my argument that parents should do a good job at parenting if they don't want their kids seeing this, Buf?
Actually Tekno I did mean to reply to your comment but forgot. Your comment made the most sense of all! I totally agree with that.

Though it's not like anyone would know the wagon scene is in there ahead of time. It just pops up on the screen. And I know it's not that big of a deal, but my point is, should it have been in there anyway to begin with?

Well, if it came down to making some other f'd up part of the game playable, then I'm all for losing the wagon thing.

Is that an option? ;)

I wouldnt in a heartbeat belive LG is a Republican at heart. He looks like a Libertarian to me (as a comedian once said Republicans who like to smoke weed ;))

And Jeff, I think the whole PG thing came about in the early 90s when movies theaters actually started *requiring* parental supervision @ R-rated movies. I remember many times in high school going to the movies and not even thinking about what a flick was rated because I knew I could get in. Then, a few months before my 17th b-day, in like 1992-93 the movies all started asking for ID. It was really strange, but I didnt sweat it much because I became "of age" shortly thereafter.

SO you have to go where the money is!

PlaceHolder for Castor & Pollux

I just finally, acutally watched the animation. The rocking only occures when someone has their arm out of the wagon shooting.

Then a pair of legs flop out and back in. I didn't get anything sexual, it made little sense to me. I expected to see legs spread eagle out the bac and a wagon rocking the way some of you were talking. It made much less sense when I actually watched it. It also made the argument seem a little more silly than it was.

You're probably not far off. I'm sure my views land me squarely in the ranks of some weird third party. To bad no one offered up a candidate yet that is more than a joke.

Clearly I'm a social liberal, but a fiscal conservative and that's the side I think is more important to the country. (taxes, spending, military, social security and stuff like that)

That's why you'll see me spouting the Republican stuff.

I'm about the same, but I end up valuing my social liberal values more.

Oddly enough, though, the last "tax and spend Democrat" president was a hell of a lot more fiscally conservative than this Republican one. This guy's just spending money we don't have. It amazes me that they're still considered by some the financially responsible party.

What was this topic about again? :)

Hi

Apparantly it's turned into political debate. After thinking it over I think the overexaggeration of the south park movie sums up whats wrong with society.

"Gratuitous sex and deplorable violence are ok, as long as nobody says any dirty words"

I thought here that deplorable violence was okay, but someone's legs flopping out the back of a wagon wasn't?;)

It cut off the rest of my post, but what I said was, were I seeing this for the first time without the stigma attached to it by this thread, my first thought would have been that whoever is in the wagon tried to kidnap some woman, and she was trying to escape, and that caused the gunfight.

The last thing I would have picked up on was some unimplied sexual innuendo.

Suuurrrre Tekno. Whatever you say. ;)

i'm not sure what to put here..

Yeah, cause a pair of legs that aren't real, and aren't attached to anything but a wagon is just oh so sexy to me...

;)

Oh yea, watching some legs just makes us all happy and *pop* ! ;)
