Wicked Twister Vs. V2

I was wondering on how the new wicked twister will go against the v2 rides. I know that the back spike is a spiral and not just a spike with brakes. Would it be better to stop in full vertical motion on the spike or just go up backwards in the spiral??? I love V2 at sfgram when i went there last summer, i plan on going to both parks this year to find out.

figuring that so many people here are PO!INTERS i think that WT will be, "the best move CP has made since selling sliced bread" IMO i like the holding brake on V² the most. I would really like to ride Linear Gale since i dislike the spirals on all the U.S. impulses

BTW i give this post 5 minutes, if it hasnt been closed already

Hurricane Geauga, I rode Linear Gale. It was a disappointment compared to the American ones. The launch is much, MUCH weaker than the American ones, and there isn't a holding brake on either tower. Still a fun ride, but nothing close to the next generation ones.

So..with that comment. I assume you've already been on WT, HG? Also, arent you the same person who said you wouldnt return to CP unless they got a 4D or a Arrowbatic, but yet you cant wait to ride WT to judge it for yourself...*rollin eyes*

i said go more than once. I enjoy CP, but can only take it once maybe twice a year.

Also i never stated any opinion on the experience of WT. All i said was that i disliked the spirals of v² & S:UE.

I've been on Wicked Twister and you can keep your holding brake. The blast up that rear tower backward, especially in the back seat one and a half turns, is one of the most intense coaster moments I've had, and spiraling toward the ground face first is also something to behold. It took all of three or four cycles this morning before the enthusiasts were crowding the back and leaving the middle seats open.

No comparison... Cedar Point built a better Impulse. Not because it's Cedar Point or I'm a Point whore, it's just a better ride and would have been at any park it was installed in.

Its still going to be a matter of opinion. Alot of people love the holding brake on the backspike of the SF impulses. I myself am one of them.

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL

Just wait... none of us expected that big of a difference. I don't doubt many will change their mind.

Back Seat on S:UE =Great
Back Seat on Wicked Twister=Omyfreakinggodthisisinsane

I too like the holding break, but that back spiral is just insane...

I wonder if this will lead SF to turn the train around on their impulses? It would be possible

If SF were to turn their trains around on their impulses, people would slam into the restraints during the launch. I don't think that would be a good idea!

I would doubt we'll see them turn the train around. The initial kick on S:UE would probably rule that out, as Wicktwist02 said.

Do you think Wicked Twister will make in into the Golden Ticket awards, Jeff is that all you have to say about Wicked Twister? Would you say that it is now the best ride in the park? Is it more thrilling than Deja-vu?
the point is that no matter how good it is, wt will overshadow v2 b/c it is at CP. Personally, i think that the hold on v2 is the best part of the ride by far and a back spiral would not be nearly as cool. I like how you can see nothing but water when you look down at sfgam, it is just so cool. But i fear that no one will talk about v2/SUE anymore, because of the ol CP bias.
how bout a future design that the back spike is half curve and half straight, so it could include the holding brake and twist.

Just a quick question and I am not trying to be smart or funny but why wasnt this topic closed? I thought vs topics where off limits according to the TOS and I have seen a million other topics like this closed before. I will be the first to admit that I am somewhat of a CP fanboy but not closing this topic would cause an aweful lot of criticism. Just my opinion Jeff. I know these are your boards and you make the rules so I know I have no say as to how these topics are handled but it is just my opinion that it should be closed.

I was just thinking the same thing. You could do it on both sides. The bottom half will have holding brakes and the top half will have the twists. The first and second launch could go at just enough speed to reach the holding brakes and on the third and forth they could reach the very top and go through the twists. That would be awesome plus it'd be very tall to make room for everything.

I love how the people who are bashin the thing and saying that the back twist sucks because probably 80% of the people sayin it have never experienced it. as for me, I have no judgement until I have riddin WT. Maybe it's not how much we love Cedar Point, but how much you hate it.

Well said!

Unless you have ridden it, you can't compare.

Yeah but seeing as though only the "CP Harem" have been able to ride the thing, why dont we put this aside? Now when some SF Sluts like myself get to ride then perhaps there can be some conversation without the appearance of impropriety.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02
