Wicked Twister, Hit or Miss for CP?

Based on the popularity of S:UE, I would say WT will definately be a hit! As far as the woodie debate goes, both SFMM and CP have a LOT of coasters. In order to entice NEW park-goers, they need to produce a NEW experience. This means that they look at offering the most unique and innovative rides available. If they happen to all be steel, then so be it. As far as space goes, I think it has more to do with "placement" than actual spacial limitations. Choosing the placement of a large structured wooden coaster and prepping that land and then connecting it to the rest of the park layout can be a long process. Steel structured coasters allow you to build over existing structures with less preparation and modification. It is quite possible that SFMM and/or CP may have been planning a woodie, but are still working out design and placement issues, while building steel coasters in the meantime. I think a woodie would fit in nicely along the beach near the new Wicked Twister at Cedar Point, and through the wooded rapids area at SFMM.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

I think WT will serve Cedar well this season. It is a unique coaster experience that can't be found on any other CP coaster and it also takes up a small amount of space. If you were given that kind of footprint and told to build a thrill ride -- knowing that CP already has two freefall attractions in Tower of Power and Demon Drop -- I don't think there would be much of a choice BUT Wicked Twister.

Will it be the magnet that MF is? I doubt it. I think most guests will still bolt to MF in the morning. I don't think the waits for WT will ever approach the 5-6 hours that MF peaked at, even with its capacity issues. Still, it's one more heart-stopper in the park which will either translate into higher attendance or slightly shorter lines at the other rides. No harm in that.

I would think that the General Public would see Cedar Point as having 4 wooden coasters.

There is no force like Millennium Force!

Mill, good point, though it would be three woodies in the public's eye. The GP would count Gemini erroneously as a wood, and unlike credit hounds, as one and not two, coasters.

Ah, but they would also count CCMR as wooden, hence the "4 woodies"...

"I don't think CP should consider themselves America's Rollercoast or whatever they call it. "

So Cedar Point can no longer use thier Tag Line?

Roller Coasters + Coastline = RollerCoast.
