It's not open yet... can we old out on judging it until it's open?

WT is going to be a HUGE hit. Was it the best choice for CP? Well I could give you my opinion, but it wouldn't matter. Obviously CP feels it is, and they've earned our trust by contiuing to be correct.
I find it interesting that both CP and SFMM continue adding steel after steel coasters, maybe they know something we don't?

Coming Soon: Coasters "American" Style.
I would hardly call a $7.5 million coaster that has held several world records 'past its prime'. A giant wood twister is not for everyone.

I agree. Pretty ironic, huh? The two rollercoaster capitals of the world (yes, they are both up there, and both tied, and both respected, get over it) both have really "not good" wooden coasters. Pretty funny (and wrong) in my opinion.

Not really B&M, take for example the Coney Island Cyclone, that is one of the most respected rides by the GP and Enthusiasts. There are many more great woodies that the GP knows are great.
The reason CP and SFMM keep on adding steel coasters is they are always trying to introduce new things, X, first 4d, MF, first giga, WT, tallest impulse. You can't introduce anything new with a wooden coaster, a vertical loop has already been done, what is next, a corkscrew? The GP knows better.

I have a different theory. I think the parks believe they already have two wooden coasters, all four of which are pains in the rear to maintain. Why the heck would they be stupid enough to put themselves through that again? To make enthusiasts happy?
Truthfully(and I hate to say this), they really don't need any more, and I have yet to hear a good reason why they would, other than "I would enjoy it".
Add: Not to say they will never build new wood, but it's obviously not a priority.

i see the same opinions and thoughts and this is mine....
i have never been to cp yet(but im going june/july)but what i can see without any thought is that they do have woodies and they do have steels, and they do have record holders. but they dont have 1 single launch coaster. these days, its good to have atleast one at a large park like cp. maybe WT wont have as large of a capacity but at a park that large i would be surprised to not see a single launching coaster.

I've been banned 3 times, and I have yet to find a reasonable explanation...
If you ask me, the roughness and the airtime is what makes the woodies fun. Getting tossed around a bit and getting some airtime is IMHO is what wooden coasters are there for.
I have to agree with you CoasterDude04. They needed this launch coaster. That IMO was the only thing that CP was lacking. Now the only thing we can do is watch and wait.
As for the question that this forum is for. Hit. The tallest and fastest impulse in the world, with not one, but two 540 degree rotation spikes. Sounds good to me.

Now I have never been to CP, but is there even room for a decent size woodie?
I'm surprised no one has jumped all over this one yet, lol.

If the shoe fits, find another one.
First time I really have to disagree with you, AJ....while I can't say that MS is "past its prime", I can say that it definitely has seen better days. First time I rode it, it was right up with my favorite wooden coasters....last time I rode it, I was pretty disappointed. I believe MS still has a lot of life left in it, but to make it a GOOD coaster again would require a serious investment by CP...(not saying they won't do it)....
Oh, and WT (the topic)...HIT as far as the coaster! Capacity, for a brand-new coaster (and the only ride addition in '02).....let's just say I've taken a wait-and-see approach...

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again...I'd take a woodie over a steelie anyday. I love the rickety feeling and the fact that the wood 'breathes' and it's a different ride everytime you ride.
I don't think CP should consider themselves America's Rollercoast or whatever they call it. Yeah they have 15 coasters and only two of them are wooden. I think they could use another woodie. A CCI along the shore would be nice but who knows. With PKI having many great woodies and the king of all them The Beast, it's no reason they're one of my favorite parks.
As for the WT hit or miss thing. Any new addition to a park is a hit IMO, unless more attractions are removed to compensate for it.
This is going to be a great coaster for cp this year. I agree, a new wooden coaster would be good but steel is better. When Raptor came out in the summer of 1994, they said it would dominate the skylines forever at the front of the park but Wicked Twister will now take that position!
