why seabreeze is selling the Q-Loop?

I have no clue why Seabreeze Amusement park in Rochester is selling the Q-Loop? I found this one ad quite a while ago in the democratic and chronicle paper and I've seen it once on the internet. I don't know what they could replace with it?

If they are replacing it what do you think they would replace it with?

Perhaps it just costs the park too much to operate and maintain. After stalling back in 1996, and shaking up those passengers, I assume that it hasen't got a very good rep either.
I like that ride. I awlays sit in the "big boy seats" to get air. It will be truly sad to not see this ride ever again. Its selling for like 700,000 i think. Not Much. Roseland Water Park is also getting sold. Too Bad For Rochester + Me. :-).

I heard they were selling it for $800,000. It is the second best ride there. The Jack Rabbit beats all. I don't know if they are removing it because of debt or just because they want to build a new ride.

Yeah I heard about Roseland Waterpark they were selling because they were so far in debt. I've heard rumors that Six Flags was looking into the park and stuff like that.

The thing that gets me about Roseland Waterpark is that there full price tickets were $23.95 a piece and you could go to a Tops Market and buy tickets to SFDL for $21.95 a piece and you would get a waterpark and a amusement park attached to it.

I never liked it that much, but i will miss it a little

i didnt like the
a)restraints
b) length
c)elements

hopefully they at least put something in its place

True Coasterfreak but Roseland has heated water. Yeah its a good park. I like there location on the lake.

Jackrabbit is a classic. In my top five for wooden coasters. If Seabreeze actually gets a buyer for the Quantum Loop then They better get something new in its place. Or i can see seabreeze stop buying amusement rides and do what they do best....Water Rides!!

I would hope they expand there waterpark. They are one of the few around western new york.

I was also wondering how much land do they have. They don't have that much I don't think.

Also there tallest ride I think is screamin eagle and it is only 70ft tall. What is there high limitation on rides there?

Sorry about that doing it twice i must of double clicked!
Seabreeze doesn't want the ride because I've heard they would like to bring something else into that area. Plus the ride pretty much never has a line it's too short and no thrill at all. Jack Rabbit ranks very high on my woodie list. Don't forget the Bobsleds too.

You can go to edit and delete that post and the one you just made, lol.

I was hoping to get up to Seabreeze this summer, so does anyone know if the coaster will still be open if they don't sell. I'm most interested in riding Jack Rabbit, but this one might still be fun.

I don't know how much. On their site it says the park is "not too big, but noy too small. Just perfect for the whole family" I don't know if there is a heioght restriction or they can't afford anything that tall. I like the Atmosphere of the park though...very nice
I know at night when riding the Q-Loop you can see the lighthouse out on lake ontario.

I'm sure they will keep it open if they can't get it to sell but what do you think they will replace it with?

Screamscape claims that they will be getting a moser free fall ride.

Bobsleds rules!!! forgot about that.

I think that they might get a boomerang. That seems to fit the park and it would make people happy. It seems like it would fit the footprint,
I agree Sideshow_John they could use a good coaster to get up to date technology.

Otherwise they should maybe update there waterpark

freak, if you accidentally post twice, you cam eliminate the *bonus post* by going into "edit" and then clicking the delete checkbox...;)

Why when I saw this thread did I immediately *flash* to the thread about Knoebels where it was mentioned that SOMEONE wanted to sell a coaster to KG....could Q-loop be that unnamed coaster...just a thought...

That park is very family-oriented and I don't see a Boomerang in their demographic or their budget soon, but hey, I thought CP was getting a Huss Giant in Area 51!!!

Lake Compounce had a boomerang and a giant CCI fit perfectly into their park. So did Wild Adventures...

Does anyone know if Q-loop will still be operating this summer if they don't sell it? That's one of my main stops to NYC this summer.

I think they would keep it open for costumers and stuff like that so if your headed up this way i think you should stop anyway and ride the Jack Rabbit and Bobsleds and don't forget to check out the Waterpark
