Why is Talon getting so much attention?

"Feeling" is the word, yes. This is what makes even a relatively short ride--Rockin' Rollercoaster--a great ride.

I think it has potential to be a super-star small, short B&M, such as Batman: The Ride. I hope it doesn't flop like Great Bear did though.
If they had LET Great Bear be what IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, it would have been a great ride.

The talk about Great Bear not being what it was supposed to be is stupid. The manufacturers and ride designers create their attractions based on the specifications of the park. Hershey received the ride they wanted. All the talk about another inversion and or two and a helix is just wishful thinking on behalf of those loyal HP fans who wanted a more prolific coaster. Say what you will, but it is the truth. Afterall, the ride practically creeps up to the breaks, so I have a hard time believe more could have been added on.
Hersheypark knew what it wanted. They asked for the most unique B&M and, IMHO, they got the best one. That first helix still surprises me, even after many rides. Just because it only has 4 inversions means nothing. The coaster has a little more than: Inversion Element, Transition, Inversion Element....etc, and that is why I think that Talon will also have an awesome ride.

BTW, I have been on a fair amount of B&M inverteds, including B:TR, Montu, Dueling Dragons, and Raptor, and still consider Great Bear on top of my inverted list.
Talon is the only new inverted coaster (?) this season and its layout looks different than a usual record breaking inverted of years past

Another reason why Talon is going to be great:
LOOK AT IT!!!
I had the chance to drive past the park today before I headed off to college. Oh my God. Wow. The lift hill rising over the public relations building and outside of the park practically is incredible. The colors on this ride are outstanding as well. Seriously, flying through the air on this coaster is going to be like taking a bad hit of acid with all those colors swarming around. The brake station is orange, red, blue, yellow, absolutely beautiful. I just can't imagine how the ride will dominate the entire image of the park when it is further on in the construction progress. Long live Dorney! Long live John Albino! Long live Cedarfair!

PS, does anyone remember if any of the brake stations on other inverted coasters have a crazy color scheme, or is Talon unique in this aspect?
I'm pretty sure that Talon is the only one with such a crazy color scheme. I really hope WOF's color scheme won't be that crazy. Thank God we finally got rid of Keller, there's no telling what colors he would have picked. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I swear this guy was color blind. The color scheme for Boomerang has to be the WORST EVER in the history of bad color schemes. You'll just have to see a picture, because it's beyond words.

What we have to go to a commercial? Well I wasn't done...oh alright, we'll be back after these messages folks.

I didn't think the Boomerang looked that bad actually...

You build it, I'll ride it
My opinion is that any new B&M coaster is gonna be good. You don't need height, speed or a lot of inversions to make a really fun ride. Take the rides here in California. Look at Top Gun at PGA. It's short, has only three inversions, but that sucker is intense!! 4.8 g's coming out of the first loop and the helix at the end is almost as high. Look at Medusa at SFMW. Sure, it has seven awesome inversions, but it's not the tallest or the fastest coaster, and it's one, if not THE best coaster in California. I don't think someone is a true coaster enthusiast if all they do is knock and complain about the smaller coasters because they are not "record-breaking". People put too much worth on the stats. At least it's a new ride!!! Be thankful that it's being built so we can all enjoy it. Jeez people, enjoy what we have and stop complaining. It gets you nowhere. Just my two cents. :(

SOMETHING IS COMING!!!
In 2001 a new *beast* will rise at SFMM.
missy to answer your ps ?, No not that I can think of. The closest station would be Mantis at cedar point but it's a stand up.Oh well... But Im with you on the long live CEDAR FAIR!
The Immelman looks OK on the Talon and Dorney Park is creating an awesome reputation these days, with all their new additions like Steel Force. Anyway, Badnitrus made the ride look awesome with his animations. As for new elements, I'm in the process of designing new elements for B&M type inverted coasters. They're under my wraps right now and I have to investigate the physics and the forces that could be involved in those elements.
