Why is Jokers Jinx Closed ?

Everone enthusiast I know has been saying it would be nice to ride Joker's Jinx one last time this season, even with the headbanging. It sure beats the hell out of Mind Eraser! As for one readers comments, FOF was definitely not "smooth as glass" with lapbars. But, I agree it's an improvement.
I'll take Mind Erasers headbanging over Joker's Jinx's headbanging any day.Still it would be nice to see the Joker up and running one last time before the season ends.
No steel coasters run well in the cold. Metal shrinks in the cold.
Who has been on FOF with the lap bars ? is it more comfortable than  the OTSRs ?
Yes
Maybe it was smooth as glass for me because I got the front.

What, since when does wood not shrink when it is cold? Compare your deck in the summer to the winter. Big difference there. Wooden and Steel coaster's both shrink in the cold. Why do you think we have an off season?

Actually the reason for a off season is because no GP in thier right mind would go to a park while it is snowing.

The Original Duke From Danimation!

I think that for next season Joker's Jinx will get lap bars, but I don't know why it would be closed when the season isn't over.

Current Favorite Coasters:
1)Raging Bull 2)Medusa (SFMW) 3)Millennium Force 4)Vertical Velocity (SFGAm) 5)Dueling Dragons (Ice)

Probably for the same reason Robin was closed from April to September and Batman is closed now. SFA is probably waiting for Premier to pick up the trains. It was the same way with Robin the ride was shut down but the trains was sitting there. But then all of a sudden the train disappered and came back with lap bars.

Nuts For Coasters Since 1969

Just about everything shrinks when it gets cold.  Wood shrinks less than steel parallel to the grain more than steel perpendicular to the grain.  Of course, wood also changes dimensions at lot when the humidity changes.

But, shrinkage has little to do with why coasters don't run well in the cold.  The major problem for any coaster is the change in viscosity of the lubricants.   Coasters are very sensitive to this.  Just try the first ride of the day on a chilly morning and you'll feel like the coaster is a slug.  Then, come back in the afternoon and you'll find the ride much faster.

I rode JJ in July of this season and if felt slow anyway including the launch.
