I really love the location of Cedar Point being right on the Lake on both sides. It looks beautiful especially when cresting MF, Magnum, and TTD's hill! That being said it is also not as hot as some of the southern parks I have visited. It has a good variety of rides and from my experience even when it is crowded lines seem to move quickly. They do a good job operating their coasters.

There is room for a third, for a tour that is. Homey don't play that... wait, I'm lost now.
Sooo... how about those beautiful concrete vistas at the point...
Lol Did I say that? I didn't mean it to sound like that. Anyways...
Yeah...I think we may have killed this thread. Someone! Quick! Say something on topic...
Do people really notice the overpriced, poor quality food, and make the decision to not come back the next year? Is the stuff that we are talking about something that an non-enthusiast notice during their visit? Does it affect them as much as it seems to affect us?
If you want to ride Maggie, MF, TTD, and the rest, you have to put up with whatever service and quality the park offers. I think it would have to get a lot worse before the chain saw a slip in attendance and spending that would cause them to want to change for the better...
How's that? Are we back on track yet? :)

^^I think people notice it, LK. My family aren't park goers. But my aunt (has 3 little boys) is all about going to Kiddieland (well, not anymore) b/c they have 'included with price' pop and parking. Even some people who make money notice that 4 bux for a pop is rediculous.
Just don't let Mr. Roper find out!
Have you ever noticed there are no coasters where you can sit (or stand, or lie) 3 across?

There is a coaster (from a small company...PAX, Souquet maybe?) in which each row has three seats. Not sure if it is still operating but it did operate at one time. I'll see if I can post a photo. Anyone remember this?
Also, Arrow's failed Arrowbatic suspended mouse that never sold had three-across seating in the second row (first row was two riders).
^Fabbri. For some reason I always forget the name of that coaster but always remember that it's in Italy.

Apparently there are three of this type, the other two located in China and Kazakhstan.
Oh, and to keep with the topic, I like Cedar Point. Haven't been there since 2000, but hopefully one day I can take the wife and kid(s) there since they've never been. Oh, and for the record, I can't really remember where I discovered my sexuality. I remember I dug this one girl in preschool...
Wait. I thought 3 was the magic number at Cedar Point. Don't you think they'd have at least 1 coaster if not 3 with 3-across seating if that really were the case?
I lived in Chicago for 3 years, from 97 to 2000, and got to Great America twice. I took family back in 2005. Had a great time every visit. I think every park has its merits. SFOMA (StL) for you younguns is a great park. I loved Valleyfair and Michigan's Adventure both when visiting in 2008. For financial reasons I think 2010 is going to be a mellow year for my amusement park addiction, but if 2011 brings something amazing to Great America I'll be heading there again for sure.
I know people complain about all kinds of things that are wrong with Cedar Point. The place is just magical to me, both for its history and how it is today. Reading about CP when I was in my early teens, with Corkscrew flipping riders over the midway, just made me long to go there. I didn't get to the Point until 2003 when I was 31, and it made me feel like the 13-year-old kid reading about the park for the first time all over again. What A Day, the shirt I bought that first trip, sums it up exactly for me.
Pinfari also makes a 3-abreast invert - http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8221. We got to ride Queen Bee on the England trip this year. Very compact but fun...but the real star at Botton's was the Superwaltzer. That thing was sick and demented in the most ridiculous way possible.

Test Track vehicles have two rows of three. Not a coatser, but close enough for rock & roll.
Well, among flats it's not THAT uncommon to seat 3-across...MiB for instance, and Scramblers are rides that come to mind right away. And since we're on the subject of CP, doesn't Sir Rub-a-Dub's Tubs also sit three adults (albeit in the round and not 3-across)... ;)
The giovanola invert almost Batman clone in South Africa had 3-across, I think.
And to make my completely pointless contribution to this thread:
As Yogi Berra said, "Nobody goes to Cedar Point anymore. It's too crowded."
Edit: It's Anaconda at Gold Reef City, but it turns out I'm also full of crap. Why did I think it was 3 across?
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
