Why couldn't Déjà Vu be 200 feet?

Why couldn't Six Flags make the Déjà Vu's 200 feet instead of 195? So close, they could have made another record being the world's only hyper inverted coasters. I know it's not that much of a difference but it still would have been cool being on a hyper inverted.

They would only have held that record for a few months seeing as a hyper invert is going to show up in England in 2002 named Odyssey(park?)

Actually Vekoma would be the one who decided how tall the GIB coasters would be. I mean, they're a standard model.

I think we should be glad that it was built at all. Whenever a park gets a newer ride like X, for example, it will get the ride that was conceived on the drawing board. Usually at a later date, the designers get a little more aggressive with loops, height, and newer elements. I am not an expert at this, I am just speculating... I am not a fan of boomerangs, but I have to admit that, as of late, I am getting kind of anxious to ride it myself.

You could also ask the same question about Alpengiest. Its just shy of 200ft also.

Why? Because frankly, people aside from us could care less. I actually don't care myself. Would 5 feet change the ride? Not at all.

Yup its 195 according to RCDB. Its just how they want to design them. If they want 200 ft they can get it and if they want 195 they get it. Plain and simple.

Like Starcoasters said, it really doesn't matter to the GP if the ride is 195ft. or 200ft. Five feet really wouldn't make much of a difference. Why does Magnum only have a 195ft. drop? The GP and even most enthusiasts don't care, it's just the way it was designed. Would five feet really make a difference on Magnum? Probably not. Just my opinion. :)

I think they didn't make it 200 ft. high because of too many g-forces. It already pulls 4 g's.

Actually, the Deja Vu rides aren't even 195 feet, they're all the exact same height, and notice that they're advertised from 178-195 ft.

As for Alpengeist, it's 170 ft. I believe actually, it's advertised at 195, but that's because the land where the drop is, is actually 170 feet, but as the ride goes through the course, the land goes downhill, and in one part, if the top of the drop to that part of the land is 195 feet. It's something like that, not 100% sure on all those details, but I know it's not as tall as advertised, still though, that doesn't derail the fact that this thing has a great first half.

Well, you are right, but just to set the record straight... The ride reaches 195 feet off the ground. The drop is 170. Simple as that. It is a great coaster though, and again...does it matter that much?

Why not 200 FT? Why not 190 FT? its just the way the ride was designed. I know that Im not going to know the difference between 195 and 200 when I ride it in December. Just enjoy the ride and ignore the details.

Does it really matter? It's a shuttle, not closed circut. Even if it was 200 feet tall, it would be like Moosault Scramble (that 200 foot tall pre-Magnum shuttle,) only the very back of the train would reach that height. I'm sure if in the future, a park buys one and wants it to be 200 feet tall, they could ask Vekoma (and pay them extra money) to make the supports taller on thier GIB so it reaches the height of 200 feet.

IMO, a 200 foot tall shuttle is not a hyper, unless if it is tall enough to get the whole train above 200 feet at the same time.

The Reason behind the diffrent advertising of heights 178-195 is because all three deja vu's aren't the same height. SFGA's Deja is only 178 same with SFOG's ( I think) but SFMM payed a little extra and of course just like SFMM got the record for tallest fastest of its kind being the flagship park and all. Oh well it doesn't matter its going to be one kickin ride anyway. Ill see you there on opening day 8/25/01at SFMM.

No, coaster_freak00, Pantera is right. They are all exactly the same for the layout. The only difference is the height above the ground it's built (ground-to-pinnacle.) For all we know, because SFMM seems to be SF's favorite, they are the only one that got measured that way, and SFoG's and SFGAm's are also 195 feet ground-to-pinnacle, but SF measured them station-to-pinnacle instead, so it came out at 178 feet.
