Who here has ever been on or heard of Mamba?

If you've been on Mamba, what did you think of it? Did you like it? I absoloutly loved it. It was an amazing, air filled ride. What a great rush. Most definently my # 1 ride

If you have only heard of it. What are you doing reading this, go out and ride it now? You won't be dissapointed.

ive ridden it good out and back nothing revolutionary still a great ride just nothing new

(the first drop was awesome) other than that uhhhhh good riddance

Everyone has probably heard of Mamba even thouh it doesn't get talked about much.

For me, it's one of my favorite Morgans. (I prefer SD2K over it because of the view, improved trains, height, etc.)

Well it is in my backyard. It's a good coaster and probably in my top 20, but when you have ridden over 200+ it doesn't stick out as a big "woo hoo". I do enjoy my rides on it though when I am at the park, frankly it is one of the only reasons I still go there, well besides Detonator and THawk.

This is Mamba, not Steel Force, just to let you know Swoosh.

Rode it about a week ago. More impressive from the road than Magnum, which it really resembles in a few ways. Too much time in the helix, too much braking on the return run, and it rides like a cheap copy of Magnum. I mean, it just has a kind of a chintzy feel to it for some reason, probably the ENORMOUS Fiberglas tub cars.
That said, it's an excellent ride. I just happen to prefer the one at Cedar Point. :)

Sorry Rctycoon2k, but no. Dorney Park doesn't have a Detonator, they have Dominator. Worlds of Fun is home to Mamba, Detonator (S&S tower) and Thunderhawk (top spin).

Sorry, i was thinking that he was refering to a ride at DP, and that he was talking about Thunderhawk, the DP woodie.

I thought the coaster was great till the midcourse, Then the rest of the return run just sucked.

No coaster at WOF was exceptionally good, However the park overall was nice and I did like Timberwolf alot.

Well, with Mamba being my very first hypercoaster when I rode it back in 1998 (WoF is my hometown park), it was an awesome ride. Great drops, a fun helix, and nice bunny hills. However, for me, after nearly 400 rollercoasters later, it's simple design/layout is all too common so it suffers to those other hypers with more elements in them. I prefer it more than Magnum, though, with them both having nearly identical layouts. I have not ridden Steel Force yet (which is like a prototype to Mamba) so I can not compare. I also have not ridden Mamba this year (I'm still stuck in Europe) so it might have suffered or improved than before, although I have read quite a bit of WoF trip reports that give good marks to the park. Glad you liked it rollerfreak9. . .

Mamba can give its good rides and its bad rides. Last Saturday is was running great with 3 trains. There was hardly any stacking and I'm talking about 3 trains here, having hardly any stacking with them is amasing. The ride was running fast and giving lots and lots of Air Time. With 3 trains runign on this ride the line never stops and Sat night had a long wait at 10:30 PM with all 3 ques full but at 11:30 PM that line was completly gone. I thought the crew done a great job on Saturday that I had to personally congratulated them on a great job that they. In fact they told me that they had record attedence on the ride that day.

Even though we don't have as many coasters as CP or VF, This park has some great rides and friendly staff. I always ejnoy my visit no matter how crowded they're. I'm glad that I have some good home parks.

Whoa I'm the 88984594th Vistor to Coasterbuzz. I wonder what I have won.

I rode it in it's very early portion of it's life, and I loved every bit of it. It quickly became my #2 steel, at the time, right behind Magnum (in a very close race). The first drop is great, and the second one isn't anything to laugh at either. After the midcourse, when I rode it, the ride was still great, as back then it wasn't on much at all, and the trip back was full of air and great Morgan hills.

Mamba is great ! I definitely like it better than Magnum. A lot smoother of a ride and equal or bettern in all other ways exvept the view. I like Wild Thing slightly better than Mamba. Take the first half of Wild Thing, and combine it with the second half of Mamba, and it'd end up in my top 3 steelies easily.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze

I've been on it, it is definately a re-ride coaster. I tried it front seat and back, surprisingly I got more air in the front seat than in the back. The seats could use more padding, I go so much air that when I landed it hurt! :-)

Yes I'm 15, no I'm not childish, I'm not being sarcastic, well maybe I do have somewhat of an ego...

I've been on it, the helix on Mamba is fantastic, but that's the only thing that set it apart from other hyper out and backs I've been on, and I find it to be the weakest one in the chain (between Wild Thing, Steel Force, and Magnum)

When I first rode Mamba in back, I thought it was a mediocre ride. But then I tried out the front, and it was a *great* ride, with lots of air on the return run, which there was none of in back. The Morgan trains really take away from the ride experience though...it feels much too controlled.
I have ridden Steel Force(which was the ride that Mamba's design was taken from, and given slight improvements). It was a great ride ,my number1, when it first opened, but now it isnt even in my top 20.

I've also heard that the main reason I wasn't overly impressed with Steel Force is that we got a back-of-the-train ride.....are the Morgans in general better at/near the front of the train....

bill, yet to get on another Morgan hyper, not content with my small sample....and although the West Coaster was fun, it was NOT what I'd call "thrilling", lol.....

RGW: You werent missing much, even in the front seat it was decent at best. And this was on a warm summer night during ERT so no crap about it had to "warm up" from the Peanut Gallery mm'kay?

As for Mamba, I saw it once when I was in KC for a convention. My first thought was "Ooh! That looks just like Magnum!"

Mamba is so much better in the front. The airtime on top of the second hill is amazing and the headchoppers on the helix are great. You won't find those on Magnum.
