Which Rides will be here in 10 years.

I am going to go aganst everyone on this, but I think a lot of B&M's will not be standing, especially their stand up coasters.  I have been hearing too many complaints about them, people saying they are sort of uncomfortable, not worth the wait.  While the designs are good IMO, they will not last.  B:TR will probably last, just not all of them.  The only company I see pushing on strong in the next 10 years is Intamin, Arrow, and Premier.

Vekoma seems to have a lot of problems, B&M is getting too into the price end of it.  It may be good, but is it worth $20 million when you could get numerous others offering a lot more?  Many people seem to be getting upset with some of the recent designs, but they are showing great promise in Hypers, but then again, look at the cost of it.  I doubt TOGO will hold on in the US, but Japan they are pretty well established and will last for a little while.  Pinfari is way too hard to even guess at IMO.  Premier could go very far with the lapbar tech they have now, Arrow is showing promise with the 4D, and Intamin has other establishments besides coasters and amusement parks so they will be here regardless of.

One thing, IMHO, that everyone keeps forgeting about when talking about clones like boomerangs is that 99% of the general public will never visit more than 1 park in their lifetime. Just because we are coaster nuts and are willing to spend our vacations park hopping, and drive 6 hours out of our way to ride coasters for a couple of hours, most people will not! Therefor if 72 parks have boomerangs, who cares? Not the general public. All they care about is that THEY have a coaster to ride, and most probably believe it is the only one in the world like it. I'm almost 32 years old, rode my first coaster at 4, and never visited ANY other parks but SFSTL and SDC until about 5 years ago.

Just a couple of G-force junkies!

The GIB's True test is this summer when the parks are at their busiest, and when Twister opens in Spain. Shall Zues KNock the down with a Lighting Bolt or willl they survive.

I also see B&M Turning into a High Priced Vekoma. With their New Cookie Cutting like ride. Look at all their rides(Except Standups) They almost all share something with each other in their categories. Also i think this Setpoint, CCI,(Unless Intamin Woods cacth on over here.) GCI, Intamin, Premier. (Premier will buy arrow out.)

Which Coaster Do you think will be here.
Monte's.

Wow, mabey I am just pessimistic, but I think Monte will be gone. I know KBF treats her well, but she will need to go to the glue factory soon IMHO.

Divorced From Dependence since 1987!

I think all those shuttle loopers wear out pretty quick.  They have a lot of moving parts compared to 'standard' roller coasters.  That's the reason why Viper was taken out at SFOG (also b/c of the new ride).  This is also why I say that Deja Vu's won't last long... too complex, too much to break or malfunction.
I'll second DWeaver's post here, and add afew thoughts of my own.

X is a great example in a case like this. It was down for the regular season, most, if not all of the problems are worked out. Now, how many of you think X was the first and last 4D?

As in Invertigo's case, the problems will get worked out, and more Deja Vu's will show up. The public likes bigger and better. Deja Vu is exactly that -a bigger and better Invertigo. However, I don't think another Deja Vu will be installed until the current problems are fixed, and it runs with little or no downtime, and it is possible. There are advantages to lots of moving parts on Deja Vu, but I think if Vekoma does perfect this concept, then it'll have less parts, but will function in the same way. They'll find a way to make it more simple. Same goes for the Vekoma flyer. We've definatly not seen the last of this idea yet either. They'll work out the bugs, and hopefully more of them (original layouts) will begin popping up. Vekoma is truly a great company, and are a big part of the industry. IMO a park isn't complete until it has some Vekoma in it. Hopefully, these three Deja Vu's and flyers that are operating now have a positive impact on Vekoma, enabling them to get back on their feet, and continue making great coasters.

I think it was the Deja's (among other prototypes) that got Vekoma into trouble in the first place.
It might've been the Deja Vu's that helped Vekoma lose some money, but what I'm saying is if they can get them to work better, they'll help them make that money back, and more.

True, but they seem antiquated compared to the competition, which is making good use of LIM and LSM.  It's seems like the equivalent of building a 1st generation drop tower today instead of a modern gyro-drop.
