Which Japanese park should i visit??

Yes Jeff, and you can see MY pics (ha!) at www.rollercoasterfans.com  All you have to do is look up a Japanese coaster, and the pic is mine.  Take 'em and put 'em on your site, if you want.   Just link the pics to my website.  Thanks, and if you have questions, e-mail me.

Nice pics Rob.  I gotta find out who took those coastergallery pictures though ;)

I know you said the weather was pretty nasty when you were at Nagashima, but man it looks miserable in those pics.  I'm sure glad you got to ride the coasters though!  (I am jealous though, White Cyclone must me mighty nice when it's wet and slippery!)

Jeff, yeah............it was nasty.  In fact, so nasty that the run from the fence (that cuts off SD2K from the rest of the park) to the waterpark lockers resulted in me being so wet that my watch was soaked inside and stayed wet for 2 months afterwards even when I put it on my car's dashboard to dry it out.  Really...........:(  I took that picture of White Cyclone right BEFORE the rainstorms really hit.  It was an amazingly terrible day, but they opened SD2K for a few rides and I did ride WC a couple of times.  I just didn't want to get pelted by the huge raindrops.  WC ran real nice in the morning, but really quite rough (to me) by the end of the day.  I suspect I was just overly tired from the 100 degrees+-in-the-rain day.  A great trip and a great park.  My personal favorite EVER.  I do love Portopialand though, and Nara is gorgeous too....all these weird little deer everywhere, but that is another story for another time.

This is very intresting. I have uncovered pictures of 200 seperate coasters in Japan. i do have a list to upload with the pictures too which i will do soon. Im off to china today for a week so if i get to ride any coasters there ill let you know what its like. But i will e-mail u when i return with the details on 200 coasters lol. Maybe you can help me uncover some of the unknown coasters with no known manafacturer lol.

C u in a week. and keep this discussion going for my sake :p

Rob, what's the '37 degrees below zero' room?  I didn't see that when I was there.
cmiesen, have you done the hospital or misle silo at Fujikyu?  I'm dying to find someone else who has!

Lewis, that's right!  You are going this year!  Have fun.  Don't bring cash...........ha!

Chris, there was this smallish building about 100yard south of the entrance to Fujin Raijin II (TOGO) that was quite literally 37 degrees below zero.  I have a pic or two.  Basically, it is a huge industrial freezer with reindeer statues inside it, and everything is frozen rock hard including the stairs you have to traverse.  Intense and even a bit scary because you could get hurt in there (where is OSHA when you need them?) but fun and totally Japanese!

Peabody, I didn't go to Fujikyu....yet.  Now I'm really interested in seeing the silo and hospital exhibits, as well as that ridiculous sounding 'freezer' exhibit that Rob's talkin' about over at Expoland.  Although, I don't think I'll go back there for a long time.  I had a bad experience there.  Expoland needs to make some serious changes before I go there again.

I'll have to type up a trip report one of these days and tell you guys about these amazing attractions.  Unfortunately it's stuff we'll never have over here :(

Back from china

I love that place. its an incredible country. im afraid it beats Florida out for my best holiday so far easily lol.... I wanna go back already.... Unfortunatly i dident get to ride any coasters due to the tight scedule but i did come across some things. Theres a new park being built in bejing which seriously takes the mick out of Disney lol. its basicly a smaller disney land and because china has next to no copyright laws and things there is nothing they can do.

Came across a small blue toboggan coaster too. you know the one with the spiral around that vertical lift thing. Theres a red one in the USA. very cool looking. Did get some pics but i havent got all 5 films developed yet.

In short China is incredible even if you don't ride coasters so when i go back in 2004 and ride some it will be awesome. Take me back :(........

Glad you made it back alive, so to speak!  I love Toboggans....!!!  At least you were able to see a country so many of us will never have the chance to.
