When you promise something Jeff...

Jeff, when you promise that club members get a pop up free website for one year they should shouldn't they? The reason I ask this is because I am a club member and everytime I visit the site I get at least one pop up add. At first I thought it was something to do with my system. So I went to some friends houses. Surprisingly, they had pop up adds show up also. I would like to know why I am receving these pop up ads when I shouldn't be?

The only thing I can suggest is that make sure you're logged into http://club.coasterbuzz.com and not http://www.coasterbuzz.com.

Exactly... don't blame me for not following the directions in the confirmation e-mail. Furthermore, I could do without the accusatory tone.

Also there are times when you may visit another site then visit Coasterbuzz and a pop up will appear. The pop up was actually from the last site you visited not Coasterbuzz.

Also if you have Mopheus on your pc then you will get pop ups for no reason at all. I had Morpheus and uninstalled it and I still get pop ups from left over apps that Morpheus installed in the background on my pc after I uninstalled it. Unfortunately I dont know how to get rid of the apps but this is not the forum to discuss that.

My homepage is set to http://club.coasterbuzz.com. It's not like I am doing something wrong. This is my homepage so how could I visit another site and then the pop up show up?

You could have some kind of software installed that is making the popups. Some software named Gator something does that I think...

But I also went to friends houses and the same thing happened. I mean after NINE different locations of trying I am starting to think something is up.

You're wrong. It isn't possible. Ads can't load if there is no code to load them. Look at the home page source for the club site... there's nothing there. It's spyware, not the site.

Set your homepage to something other than coasterbuzz. Something you know for a fact will be addfree. If theres adds its spyware, if not then I would say you ask for you money back. (looks like that "comments" thread just went bye bye.)

AdAware will seek out and remove spyware such as Gator. (Note, it is NOT the same as a popup-killer, which I won't run, but rather a utility that removes software that installs itself without my permission, like Gator -- world of difference)

I get pop-ups also, but it's only when I hit a link in the forums, that takes me to an archived topic, which opens a new CB window, that is not within the club homepage. Or when I hit a link to another web site within the forums. That's the only time I've ever noticed it, and that's purely my doing, not CB Club.

Enjoy yourself. These are the good old days you're going to miss in the years ahead.

CP Thrills, it seems like you are the only one having this problem. If not, others would have spoken up by now, and they haven't.

Posting, "Me too" like some brain dead AOLer. I ought to to the world a favor, and cap you like old yeller...

It's got to be spyware, I never have gotten an ad on the CB Club site. If you are getting pop ups on other peoples computers, then I am almost convinced that you aren't logging onto the club site.

Just sit back, and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!

I just joined club.coasterbuzz yesterday, and I must admit the $20 is completely worth it for the ad-free version.
