When is this so called "PATCH" going to be released?

Yeah I enjoy a lot of EA's sports games. Madden, NCAA etc. If you ever watch the making of those games on MTV it really looks like they know exactly what they're doing before they are even close to doing it.

Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!

First off thank you Jeff for taking the time to post all those bugs/ poor design decisions.

Second I was worried my older comp wouldn't handle the game, now I'm reading that my older nvidia card may be better for it. Wow

Stick it to the man!
If you've never seen Office Space, you must...one of the greatest low budget movies ever.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
The large list of bugs and issues with the design in general easily suggests a product that was rushed to market.

I'd be curious as to how many bugs were actually found during testing that were logged and reproducible, but were ultimately resolved as "deferred" or "not fixing" in order to release as close as possible to the target release date.

Jeff: i don't think i've ever seen a bad EA game. MOH, Battlefield and a ton of sports games... i've never seen a dud yet...

The thread about the patch/problems has reappeared - but with all the replies gone.

Hysterical.

Hope you don't mind my reply Jeff. I have my own "Open Letter" to Atari and Frontier coming soon, but thought it would be interesting to see what they do with that post this time.

:)

I just read the FAQ's and I'm slowly getting infuriated.

Still convenient the way they mention thing that do happen as the result of "lack of understanding", but don't address any of the real bugs with the game.

It'll be interesting to see what the patch actually fixes.

I have a feeling, we'll still be seeing 5 train limits, non-working blocks, etc.

Yeah. I'm getting more and more pissed seeing as how they're handling the situation, too!
My open Letter to Atari & Frontier. I also sent it to them. Its long, but reasonable.
Gosh, you sure put alot of thought into it, most of our stories are alot like yours, I don't think I'd have the time to write all that up, but I am glad someone did. It's about time they got a letter to them! :) Nice TeknoScorpion!

Why don't we also send that nice letter to IGN, GameSpot, and games.slashdot.org? I think they'll like to read how Atari is rushing a product out fast while ignoring the fans.

I'm not sure if I should be impressed or frightened... that's a lot to read.

We're updating the FAQ now, with a list of all the things the update adds or fixes. A 'beta' version of the update will be linked to from the FAQ in the next few hours if you would like to try it and be involved in testing, before it 'goes official' tomorrow.

This should be interesting. :)

hmmm...if its a beta, will the official one install on top of the beta, or just replace ...hmm...interesting!

Enjoy the 'beta testing', guys. ;) I'll wait until I hear that the game is essentially complete before I buy it. If you had asked me a month ago if I would buy this game (even before seeing the demo), I would have said 'yes' without hesitation, even if I knew there were going to be some bugs. There are certain things I will purchase based solely on the name, no matter what the quality is, just because I know I can overlook whatever sucks about it. This is true for music, movies, games...anything. There are just things that I will buy just to have all the related releases.

I'm also pretty easily impressed by games, especially coaster-related ones. I usually have the mindset that most of the kids on the Atari forums do: 'Oooooh...PRETTY.' 8|

That said, I never in a million years thought I'd actually put off buying this. That's how pathetic I think this was, to release the game in the state it's in. I've never witnessed such a disaster in the gaming industry, and that includes the leaking of the Half-Life 2 code. Hell, at least Valve has the intelligence to keep bumping the release date until the game is actually ready.

Wow, you have done an aweful lot of complaining about the game, yet you don't even take the time to read something that someone else did to help your case. Kinda sad... it only took my five minutes, do you really have too much to do than to sit down for 5 mins?

Why would I read it? It's a letter to Atari. I already know what's wrong with the game.

Wait... haven't we been beta testing all along?
