What's with the inappropriate ads?

I ventured on over here to Coasterbuzz while waiting on a project to build, and I got proxy errors in place of the ads. The ones that block out inappropriate content.

Now since I couldn't see the ad, I don't know what it was, but still, I didn't realize you had moved to porn ads Jeff ;)

Doesn't necessarily mean porn. My employer blocks CoasterBuzz itself ("no forums not directly related to work...")

Yes, it stinks ;)

Well, if you were on like a school or work or government computer, it thinks almost all adds are inappropriate content. Atleast at my school and at my dads office.

I havn't seen anything inappropriate, unless a woman in a bikini is inappropriate. ;)

Corporate networks, the really big ones, will block out the weirdest stuff. For some it's not even the content as much as what they see as a threat. Ads, to some paranoid administrators, are a threat. That's a shame because the ad networks that really peddle spyware and the like are generally only on porn sites!

Actually, they are very lenient with what they block here at work. This was the first I had ever seen an ad blocked, struck me as funny to get an ad blocked at coasterbuzz of all places. The only thing I've found it to block in the past is pages with innappropriate pictures (friends think it's hilarious to send you links of porn while at work, thank god they don't actually appear), and graphic text.

When I plugged the URL for the ad into the filter website, it said it was blocked for Pornography and Sex. LOL *** Edited 8/11/2005 6:41:45 PM UTC by Blaster_1578***

Yes, thank God for that Blaster. Naked breasts would be gross.

Not gross, just not good as a supervisor walks by.
