Whats the skinny on Drachen Fire?

I think LuvMonkey is right. Check out this web site (below) and it will explain the whole thing. Also, DF is the only coaster Arrow made with a cobra roll (I think) and many B&M coasters have cobra rolls.

It is totally true, B&M did design the layout for DF. Luvmonkey is completely right. i hheard it from several relaible sources including lots of ACEers including myself. Arrow could have never have come up with some of the manuevers on DF, they were way too advanced for arrow, just look at the layout it is like no other arrow ever designed.
Drachen Fire would be a classic if B&M had actually constructed the ride. DF would have had an extra inversion in the layout but arrow had no idea how to make a zero-g roll, so instead they just had the hill before the cobra roll. I really wish BGW would just get B&M to redisn it and restore this great ride to become even greater. Another thing is the reson arrow was brought in to build DF was because Busch had let arrow finish the consruction on big Bad Wolf when Swartzkoft couldn't finish it for some reason i can't remember. Arrow did i great job with BBW but in my opinion did a decent job with Drachen, it was a excellent coaster but it had so much more potential. It had a better design than the much acclaimed and infamous Kumba. I could be resideing in the top ten for steel right now if B&M had finished the job.
I remember someone here wrote a letter to B&M, copyied it, and posted it here. The letter stated they had NO involvment at all with Drachen Fire. End of story people.
sethman, ACEers are not god, they do not know everything about coasters. They, just like me, can have incorrect information. This, though, is one fact I know for sure, 100%. B&M has no involvment with DF's constrution. Get it through your skulls, people.

Do you know where that hill before the cobra roll came from? Have you ever seen Turn of the Century? It had 2! Have you ever seen CP's Corkscrew? It has 1! Wow!
And whoever said Arrow has "RCT style" track, I doubt that. The only thing is they had no computer technology or very primative computer technology, which resulted in very rough transitions, making it seem that way. The track is all custom-made for the rides. You want "RCT style" track, goto Vekoma.

Haven't I been saying for ages that it had nothing to do with B&M?

BGW should replace it with a wooden coaster.

Why not allow the company that designed and manufactured the ride (ARROW, not B&M) some in a renovate it. Now it's true Drachen Fire never had a serious incident and B&M had nothing to do with it. Personally I would like to see what Arrow could do with it now. Look at X and Tennessee Tornado. These both prove Arrow's new track manufacturing and design processes. Seriously, let Arrow do the work.

There was always the rumor that B&M was to build two sit down loopers for BGT and BGW, one each. B&M decided to can DF and only build one at BGT which became Kumba. Who knows if its true.

I can tell you the season it reopens, I'll hope to be down in Virgina riding it

All I know is, I rode DF in early 92 five times, and I can say that at the time, it was already a classic. I didn't have the misfortune of riding it after the changes, but I can bet that if Arrow is left to their devices, they can re-align, re-track, etc. and make DF what it started out to be. A deluxe thrill. A wonder. Too many of us are quick to jump on the B&M bandwagon. There is nothing wrong with B&M. In fact, I adore B&M, but leave them out of it. They were NEVER a part of this ride. Get over it. Let Arrow do the work, so we can ride the thing again. I say "Bring back the magic, Arrow."
