What's the buzz with Shock Wave?

Has six flags decided what to do with Shock Wave which is sitting in pieces at SFgam?

Where does everyone think it should go?

Visit Camden's 100th!

It would look nice in my backyard!

Hang on, I got a buck fifty in my pocket....(I'm going to make some phone calls) :)

I wonder how much they really are selling it for. We should make some phone calls, it would be cool to have a piece of tack like, in my room, or as a ladder, haha.

It would look nicer melted down and rolled into coils for use in the auto industry.

Six Flags Darien Lake Mania! Your #1 source for DL and other parks!

Richard - I'd only flame you if I felt any differently. I don't. :)

I still think it's going to go somewhere. It sort of makes sense in my mind, regarding the reason it still sits there.

Think about it. If parks make coaster deals 2 or 3 years in advance, wouldn't a similar timetable be in place for any park resurrecting Shockwave? No, they don't have to do any R&D, but they'd have to figure out the land/space issue, worry about building stations, electrical systems, hiring staff, etc, etc.

Because (if we still believe SF actually did spare Whizzer at the last minute) Shockwave wasn't really going to go anywhere until it was taken down, it seems like the 'finding a buyer' phase would probably ruled out anyone building it back next year. Sure, other SF rides have been moved and rebuilt fairly quickly, but I'm not sure if any others have been removed on such short notice.

Short story, I'm not sure, I could be completely off, but I have a feeling that, come next year, Shockwave will not be sitting in the grassy area next to the service road. Maybe it won't be completely built, but I think it'll be somewhere around its future home.

With Six Flags relocating coasters recently, I am sure Shockwave is going to be one of them. Basically, expect to see Shockwave at another SF park in the future.

If the coaster was going to be scrapped, I am sure it would have met its fate already. It still sits in pieces side by side along the grass hill buffer and other pieces still sit in the back of the employee parking lot.

Almost everytime we go up on Sky Trek Tower, people see the blue and white pieces and think its a new coaster for next year. :)

I expect it to stay in the SF family and be used for one of the smaller parks. I'd guess Frontier City, SFEV or SFNO, but I have nothing to back that up.

Moosh, my instincts tell me that SFNO has enough loops for the time being...Frontier City is only there to keep Paramount and Cedar Fair from trying to move in on the market....that leaves SFEV as my "best GUESS" for the next location of Shock and/or Wave....unless it goes *to sleep with the fishes*...

Dante...assaulting CPGers is a punishable offense...we still haven't decided on the punishment, but it WILL be severe...;)

Watch out, there's something flying right over DorneyDante's head, and I think he's a bit confused...

What about my quite a riot I tell ya *sarcasm*? I can't place it right now.

Anyway, the ride is already down you fool.

D'uh.

p.s. It's 'tool' with a 't,' not 'fool' with an 'f.'

edit: Found my quite a riot I tell ya *sarcasm*.

The real burning questions is: Which park gets "Shock" and which park gets "Wave"?

Why does everyone assume it's "Shock" and "Wave"? Maybe it's "Sho" and "Ckwave." Or "Shockwa" and "Ve." Or "S" and "Hockwave."

Why can't it ever be "Wave" & "Shock"?

Gator - I've heard a few unsubstantiated rumors that PGA's old shuttle loop, now sitting in pieces af SFMW, will end up at SFEV next season.

My reason for picking SFEV and SFNO is that those are the two newest purchased parks in the chain and adding a used -- albeit new to the market -- big looping coastr would be a less expensive way to keep growing those properties.

My reason for picking Frontier City is that they have not received any new major thrill ride in quite some time.
