whats going on top of stratosphere

I thought I read somewhere that they were going to cut the track up into sections and take it down in the elevators piece by piece in a long slow process while the tower is closed at night.

Of course my first reaction was "This is Vegas, you men something in Vegas closes for the night?" :)

The only thing that looked missing to me before Solace was the train, which I could see from my hotel room in the parking lot below.

Maybe they are going to build a coaster to break the length record!!!!!:P
worlds tallest chance tobaggan?

this is were my sig would be but i cant afford one
A friend of mine was there last week and stayed at the Stratosphere. He told me they only removed the train so far and the track is still in place.
I heard they are considering a Log Flume.

Moosh, you have me ROTFLMAO.

Zongaboy, great idea! They'd need to install barf bag dispensers though.

Here's an original idea...a giant fishhook shaped freefall where riders drop all the way to street level and then back up a long spike. ;)

But only after marking off the pavement below in a grid pattern, painting it red and black and numbering it, and then placing your bets as to where the pieces land.

Newest game in town... Roller Coaster Roulette.

Extreme gambling- it was only a matter of time!

I think my poor head fell off from READING that idea. Just plain "ouch!"... :)

Why not a Star Flyer in place of Big Shot? That would be something to conquer!

Rob - there is already a swing-type ride up there. It holds 8 riders and an arm swings it out over the edge. Riders sit facing the center so that when they swing out they face the ground over 1,000 feet below.

There are pics on Strat's website.

I know, I wanted to ride last time we were out there but thunderstorms kept the top of the tower closed when we had time. I'm just saying that a Star Flyer at the top of that thing would really be a treat, considering how much fun I had on the "normal" one in Orlando!
Worlds tallest Rip Cord up top. Jump2. Maybe they should just replace High roller with a flying coaster thats takes you over the edge. Maybe Storm Runner type ride that after eclipsing the top of the top hat dives off the side of the tower for a few hundred feet. *** Edited 5/17/2006 9:10:32 PM UTC by TonyBlackjack***
