US-24 runs within miles of my house near Detroit. Looking at the map I could actually drive it all the way to IB. However, it would probably take a lot of time.

Knoebel's location is indeed "middle of nowhere", however getting there is rather easy - it's just 15 miles or so off I-80. I've been to many parks that are much harder (and/or annoying) to find that aren't in the middle of nowhere.
Heck, isn't most of PA kind of the middle of nowhere? ;)

What can be more confussing than having to follow all the yellow and black arrows down a narrow city street from the interstate to Kennywood?
Anyone who says there are no crooked roads in Indiana has never taken SR 37 from Bedford to I-64, or been to Brown County. Want to drive in a straight line from Bloomington to Columbus, Fo-ged-a-boud-it!
