What was the first Cobra Roll... Raptor or Kumba?

Im really confused.... I keep hearing that Raptor was the first coaster with a cobra Roll. But when u think about it Kumba was because it was made in 1993 and Raptor was made in 94'. Im alittle confused about this? Any help? Thanks :)
Raptor was the first Inverted coaster to use a Cobra Roll.

I think actually it was Drachen Fire, which opened in 1992. I've heard Drachen Fire's cobra roll called a batwing before but I'm almost positive it really is a cobra roll.

Maybe it's the park just exxagerating, or maybe it was the first on an inverted...
What was the first vekoma boomer?  Wouldn't that be it?

I think Suspended Andrew is correct by saying that Drachen fire was the first.  One of the elements looks just like a "Cobra Roll", but the ride was constructed by Arrow, and not B+M.  But i do think it might have been designed by B+M????

First cobra roll ever was probably the first Vekoma Boomer.

First B&M cobra roll was Kumba.

First B&M INVERTED cobra roll was Raptor.

I heard somewhere that BGW was originally going to have B&M build Drachen Fire, but construction was turned over to Arrow.  Does anyone know anythind about this?

The Drachen fire B&M story was nothing more than an inflated rumor.

B&M has written to another enthusiast on this board, disclaiming any relation to the coaster.  After speaking with Busch, they also informed us that B&M had nothing to do with the ride, and was never contacted.  While the ride looks similar to a B&M design, It was in fact designed by Ron Toomer.

id rather be on a coaster.....

Foozy: That's not what numerous reliable and also non-involved sources have told me. Think about it. Would B&M *WANT* to be associated with that ride?

If u own america's greatest rollercoaster thrills, (the first one made) then watch the segment on raptor....the host states that raptor is the first INVERTED coaster to feature a cobra roll.

tyler: your "reliable and un-involved" sources are totally wrong, B&M is saying they had nothing to do with the ride because they DID NOT have anything to do with the ride.  i even saw a show on TV a interview of ron toomer talking about designing it.  i dont recall the name of it, but i know others have seen it, ive heard them talking about it.
but think about it, DF doesnt even resemble a B&M layout at all.  even on http://coaster-network.com/bm/bm/other.htm it has clear proof that they had no involvement in it.  and if your saying that B&M designed it but they deny it, then i would sure as hell think that ron toomer would have his say in, because if he didnt design it then i dont know why he would take credit for it since its so bad.

Just check out America's Greatest Roller Coasters in 3D. Ron Toomer even talks about Drachen Fire and they do say that it was in fact designed by Ron Toomer of Arrow Dynamics. Poor Ron, so many people still skeptical that he actually designed it....

First cobra roll style inversion on a coaster was indeed on a Vekoma boomerang. I believe the first Boomer came out in the early 1980's.

Just to make it clear for you people who think B&M was involved with Drachen Fire:

Drachen Fire and B&M do not have anything to do with eachother. END OF STORY.

I could have sworn that was established months ago.

Hi! I'm Hungry, whats your name?

Yeah, that letter is 100% proof.  I had seen is before but I couldn't remember where, so I didn't post.  I'm glad someone did.

Sorry, but a letter is not 100% proof at all.  I really don't want to drag this back up, but anyone with common sense can take a look at the layour and see that it is so very much unlike Arrow.  So why would Arrow take credit for it and B&M not?  The B&M side is obvious - a company would in no way want to take credit for a ride that's SBNO because it was so crappy.  As for Arrow taking credit, they manufactured the track, it runs their trains, and their engineers adapted it from the original B&M layout/design.  Obviously nobody is ever going to agree on this one, but I just don't see any reason why Arrow would create a ride that is such a drastic departure from their others (design-wise).  However, I *have* seen a lot of evidence that suggests that it is, indeed, B&M's design.  I'd weigh the evidence for you, but it's all been done before and probably isn't worth doing again.
