Kraken's Big List of Coasters that would not exist if Magnum had not been built:

Mamba
Steel Force
Wild Thing
Pepsi Max Big One
Desparado
Apollo's Chariot
Raging Bull
Nitro
Goliath
MILLENIUM FORCE!!!!!!!!!!
Titan
Steel Phantom/Phantom's Revenge
Son of Beast
Steel Dragon 2000
Fujiyama(I beleive tha's how it's spelled)
Superman-Ride of Steel

Anyone that thinks the only reason these coasters are here is because of Magnum is completely full of it! You think everyone was just going to keep building coasters the same heights over and over? Pah-lease. That's about as true as Magnum is sinking.

Windjammer, just kidding. Actually my vote goes to Flashback. I would not say I love it to death, but I do enjoy Flashback (I know how to ride it without pain).

Not saying I didn't like it... it was just not as great as what I expected.

Of the coasters I have ridden, I can't say there are any that I truely dislike, but plenty that I like better than others. There are some that I would stand in line for, and others that I would not.

Kumba, even though it is was a bit of a let down for me, is one that I would stand in line for, while its nearest neighbor, Python, is definately one I would not. However, I did not include Python in that list because I was not expecting much from Python and it lived up to those low expectations.

Even at my homepark (Hershey) there are 4 I would not stand in more than a 20 minute line for... SDLooper, Sidewinder, Wild Mouse, and Trail Blazer... and I like 3 of those... Trail Blazer is the only one I continually pass up in order to ride other things.

Even those portable Chance Tobaggans (that I like to trash at every oportunity) I would ride if a) there is no line, and b) there is nothing better to do.

I promise I won't go off on a rant about those @#$%^&*! Toboggan's again.

It's a post...if you don't like it, don't respond to it!
Koaster King- Back then, no one ever thought they would break that barrier of 200 feet until Magnum! Those coasters would NOT exist. who knows when we would even try? Dissing Magnum is like dissing the whole hyper coaster genre.
No one thought they could build over 200'? I will never agree that those coasters would never exist. Coasters are all about pushing the limits and parks are all(well some) about records to attract the crowds. It was bound to happen. I'm sure Steel Phantom was already being planned while Maggie was going up for example and it's drop was 30' or so larger. No coaster company or park would be afraid to build a number(in this case 200+). It would just depend on how many other numbers they already had($).

KUMBAS awsome slflake its a freaking masterpeice the barrel roll just perfecectley kicks ***.
Put it this way, Cedar Point put in the first 200+ and 300+ roller coaster. Without CP, todays favorites would never have been built!
In the nicest way possible, keep telling yourself that. The thought of stopping to build any coasters over 199' then 299' is completely and utterly absurd. And never say never. Anything is possible...with money in this case.

They where the first to try. Just because your are too wussy to ride on Magnum doesn't mean it wasn't inovative. And Kumba rules.

How is Magnum innovative and it was the first to try what? Be taller than the last record holder? I'm not saying this in a bad way. I'm not sure what's innovative about a wood out-and-back layout and a bigger number than the coaster before. Enlighten me.

Another coaster I thought was boring is Judge Roy Scream at SFoT. All I here about it is that it is a great ride for beginners and die-hard enthusiasts. I thought is was a tiny ride and very slow, and the only reason I went on it was because its beautiful setting right next to the lake."

Coastergoose, I watched them build Judge Roy Scream back in 1980, and I rode it the very first day it was. I agree that it is a tad outdated and a bit short. But I would be sad if they took it out, unless, of course, they replace it with something totally awesome like a 4D coaster.

As for coasters that I wasn't impressed with. I'd have to say that Rattler down at SFFT bored me half to death. It's not near the ride that the Texas Giant is.
Only keep Judge Roy Scream if they add a boomerang instead of the boring turnoaround (kiddin)
All the SLC's

Uh, without CP, a MF or a Magnum would have been built elsewhere. Come on, some park's gotta do it.
In a brief answer...I'd have to say the Magnum.
