What state has the best rollercoasters?

I think that this will be an excellent way for each person to put up their own ideas of the best state for what ever their reason be.
Ohio
Just by adding up the numbers and records.

-------------
#1 Steel-Incredible Hulk
#1 Wood--Timber Wolf
From what I have heard Ohio has been named the rollercoaster capital of the world. MF and SOB for that matter heck even add villain have just raised ohio's notch alot.

-------------
Closing Time: 5:30
CP Arrival Time: 5:50

Whose Line is it Anyway?
yep,
Ohio hands down. we have some of everything. 3 giant roller coaster parks. all have tons of great coasters. WE have arguably the top 3 steel and top 3 wooden coasters all in one state. i said arguably!!!!!

Alaska!!

Look at how big the state is. There are bound to be alot of "undiscovered coasters" there!!

Just kidding, Ohio is definately #1. I live in California and thanks to Six Flags, I'd say we're #2.

Gotta ride 'em all!
check out the thread from PIttsburghCoaterMan at www.ultimaterollercoaster.com. he is trying to say that PA is far better than Ohio with coasters. Im still laughn at him!!!!he thinks hershey knoebels kennywood blow away CP SFO and PKI. notice that ohios parks are known by very vague acronyms!! must mean something about their popularity

PA has the woodie market nailed. There's no doubt about that. Ohio and Cali both get strong marks.

Pittsburgh, PA
Ohio has the greatest steel coasters
while PA has the best wooden coasters. California, Illinois, Texas, Maryland, New York, New Jersy and Georgia are all strong runners up.
-------------
Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
Neil -- SFGAm is 5 hours?!? Cool! ;)

Now, SFGAdv is ~6 hours. I've done PKI in less than 5, but that's not a bad estimate.

Then there's SFA, (4 hours), PKD (~6), SFKK (~6 according to my friend who used to live in Louisville, but I think it's more than that)

Pittsburgh is DEFINITELY a good place to live for coasters :)

to seven of 9 ,

those times apply to cleveland just the same just CP SFO and PKI are closer !!!bad argument buddy.

Also, I believe ohio battles PA very strongly in the woodie dept. Beast SOB MS Villian Racer Blue Streak Screechin Eagle!!!!!

overall we have the BLOCKBUSTERs SoB MS Beast Villian but PA has got the classics or classic-like coasters(small fun and powerful)

total are 18 for both states
the thread is overall anyway!!! ohio has got the overall coaster scene locked~!
Overall
1. Ohio
2. Pennsylvania
3. California

Steel
Ohio

Wood
Pennsylvania

Does that match most opinions? It is just my opinion. I live in a decent coaster spot.

Cedar point- 8 hours
Kennywood- 5 hours
SFA- 2.5 hours
Hersheypark- 1 hour
Knoebel's- 1.5 hours
SFGAdv- 1.5 hours
Dorney- right here(15min.)

According to Mapquest, I am 2284.3 miles from Sandusky, about 42 hours drive time. Good thing for me I like to drive fast!!

Gotta ride 'em all!
WOW Wildcat! Can I come live with you, LOL!
There's also a potential for a 4th mega park, with the Sea World name change, and what's going on with the other sea worlds. Jeff, is that sea world land lease really true anyway? How they can't build any rides because of six flags owning their land?
I'm a PA resident, and I feel that Ohio is #1, CA is #2, and PA is #3. Although, I must say that PA has a great collection of woodies, eg Phoenix, Wildcat, Lightning Racer etc.

Long Live Cedar Fair ;)
A someone who has been to 40 states I have to say OHIO wins this catagory, hands down.
