What started your love for Roller Coasters?

A combination of RCT and my second trip to SFGAm, which was last year. (The first time I went, I was in seventh grade and, though my friends tried just about everything, I didn't go on anything [well, no coasters, anyway]!)
The second time around, I got talked into riding Raging Bull. After that, I rode Viper, and then I was shot for the day except for riding the observation tower and the go karts. Therefore, although I would consider myself an "enthusiast in training" at most, I am looking forward to my church youth group's trip to SFGAm later this year so I can further expand my track record and experience!

LOL! Those are my first "big" coasters too. I was 11 way back in 1981. I think it was Eagles first year. I was so scared that I faked a stomach ache the first time in line! But ultimately rode it and loved it.

Did I mention, that I like coasters...

One ticket to PKI - $32.95

One slice of Larosa's pizza - $5.50

One wait for The Beast with fireworks - 3 hrs

One life changing experience - Priceless

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.

Cedar Point's Blue Streak, 1973.

It's actually kinda funny...about 6 or 7 years ago, my brother got the first Goldhil video "America's Greates Roller Coaster Thrills in 3-D" when it came out, because he thought it would be cool to "ride" a coaster at home.  So when we first got it, we would se up a chair in front of the TV, and then the other would "shake" the chair to the movements on the POV (we would always skip the Ron Toomer interview, it was boring for a ten year old). Prior to this,  I would only ride the kiddie coaster at American Adventures in Marietta, GA (I would always go there for b-day parties) and on one trip to SFOG (the year Ninja opened 1992) I went on the Dahlonega Mine Train.  Even then when I was 7 or 8, I would love to watch the coasters, but wouldn't ride.  When I was visiting family in Toronto in '96, I rode a fewof the big coasters at PCW (Vortex was my first).  In 1997 I went to SFOG for a school trip, and I was barely 54" so I rode Everything, including the new B:TR, thanks to peer pressure.  The next summer I got a SP to SFOG, my home park, and finished off all of the coasters I had refused to ride at PCW, and really started to appreciate the roller coaster.  This year however, I started trying to go to new parks whenever possible, and I now consider myself an enthusiast.

I went on vortex at pga the first time when i was 5, i was to short, my feet wern't touching the floor, and i had the best time of my life. But when i was four my cuzin took me on the oltra twister and viper at sfaw, i've had a life long love from there!
I think my love truly started when I started working at SFGAm this past summer.  I used to like the thrills from each ride.  But now I truly love the ride in general.

Well you can probably guess that my addiction began at SFGAm and I thought more people that rode their first coaster at SFGAm would've rode this one.  Anyways I went to SFGAm for the first time when I was 3.  The next year I came back (that's right, I was 4) and my dad took me on Rolling Thunder!  I was hooked.  I wanted to ride it more.  I rode it a total of 3 times and then he took me on the Whizzer, that's what really put me over the edge!  The water at the bottom of the first drop, the trees throughout the ride, the twists and turns!  It was a life predicting trip!
