What parks have good capacity?

What park's queue lines make you go "Wow that was a short wait!"? I know SFMW's do because the longest I've had to wait there is 45 minutes.

If we're talking short lines, then Conneaut Lake gets my vote. Over timed rides and no wait. Blue Streak had no wait either.  If we're talking SF, that WoA during a rainy fright fest; one train wait for front seat of BFK/front-back of Villian. (or if you wanted any seat then people just stayed on for several runs on all coasters).

Canobie lake park usually has kinda short lines.......

Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE)
1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangled
BGW,when I was there in July 2000 the coasters were near walk ons.I think the longest I've waited for a ride was on Alpengeist, and that was only a 15 minute wait on a sunny weekend.:)

I would say BGW and Hershey are the two best I have been to.

All at once the ghosts come back reeling you in now.
Silver Dollar City has amazingly short lines also, usually no more than a 10-15 minute wait for Wildfire, and from what I saw it is usually a walk on or near walk on.

Fire in the Hole had about a 10 minute wait each time I rode

Buzz Saw Falls had about a 15 minute wait each time I rode

Thunderation topped out at about a 6 minute wait

Runaway Ore Cart was always a walk on :)

It is incorrect to compare wait time with capacity--a ride that has a very long queue or a park that is extremely busy is going to have a longer wait time.  The fact that you wait over an hour does not in any way mean that the crew isn't working at high capacity, the same as if you wait only 15 minutes does not in anyway mean the crew is working even close to capacity.

Well, good capacity depends on crowds. If you take a small park on a weekday and compare it to a theme park on a weekend is not fair. You need to look at the rides running AT capacity.

Take a ride like Batman Knight Flight which has 3 trains and can run, say 1500 PPR. Well, on a weekend, they only run two trains and stack every time..... thus giving you about 750 PPR. Thats horrible capacity.

The parks I have found that run close to and meet capacity are CP, Hershey, IOA, Disney Parks, Dollywood, and Lake Winnie.

the best i have found is bgt during presidents week, everyones in orlando and there are no waits anywhere.

Yeah, just because a smaller park has very very short lines doesn't mean it has good capacity, it just means that there aren't a lot of people at the park.  You can't really say that Holiday World has great capacity just because there usually isn't a wait for Raven on a weekday.  Really, The Raven has horrible capacity considering it only runs one train.  Its just that there aren't that many people there to ride it.  And then many people that ARE there to ride it are going to ride it once or twice and then chill out in the water park.

Kicking screamin' Gucci little siggy.

The question is "What parks have good capacity" NOT short lines.  In order to have good capacity, you have to have lots of high capacity rides.  CP, SFMM, SFGADv, SFGAm, DL, MK, and PKI all have good capacity.  Now running their coasters at FULL capacity with all trains running is another question.

Mike

SFMM has long que lines but usually the wait in the tines is very short.  On Viper, you can stay on the front of the train for 5-6 runs before they tell you to go back through and get back into the line. Also the last time that I went there that happened to my dad and I on Goliath and Riddler's! I couldn't believe it.
No questions Asked, its has to be Cedar Point, They are tops for Short Queues, and great capasity(At least when I was there anyway;) )

Raptor, MF,Iron Dragon and Magnum were running 3 Train Operations, Raptor reached 50 mins max, MF reached 50 mins max, Magnum reached 30 mins max, Iron Dragon Walk on all day.

As for the other major coasters excluding Jr Gemini and Woodstock Express, they were all running 2 train operation which was great to see, This made quite a few of them walk ons including Cedar Creek Mine Ride,Gemini and Blue Streak

Power Tower was running all 4 towers, Demon Drop had all cars running, So again, impressive work here. And Basiclly the biggest queue of the whole day went to Mantis(Late in the Day) to 1hr 30 mins, But this is only because of a 2 train operation, and slow loadings etc, but you expect that on a stand up anyway:p However all other rides were less than 1hr, And Most were even walk ons anyway.

As for other parks, I find that BGT are normally quite good, I will always remember one day I visited the park(When Gwazi was not there though) and I remember that virtually every single ride was a walk on, Montu and Kumba were walk ons with both running 3 train ops(YES it does happen for all you none believers:p ) Scorpian, and Phython were both walk ons, Tidal Wave was a walk on, and nearly every other ride were walk ons, the only rides I believed that had queues on the day was The other Log Ride(Forget the name, was about 20 mins) And the Rapids(About 30 mins) Pretty impressive anyway.
It seems to always happen when I visit, even though the park looks packed, I never seem to queue up much for stuff, and I normally tend to walk on most stuff, So my top votes go to BGT and Cedar Point definatly:)

Well..Noone mention SFGAdv. I was there on a Saturday and the park seemed like it was filled to capacity. But, most of the ride crews kept the lines moving extremely fast. Definitely want to give a shout out to the Nitro/Medusa crew. Both rides had full queues and lines out the entrance, but they kept the wait time under 50 minutes.

Dayuum, Your HOT!
*BEST* (not good or great) capacity is Disney (Land, Worl, Sea, Paris, whateva..). Just ask Absmillard..
ciao,
moi
California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure. I've never seen better capacity for a coaster ever. With it's two stations and quick ride ops I counted 3 trains on the ride at all times, perfect timing too. 2 other trains were loading in the station at all times. The last one would be on the brake run. That's 6 trains on one coaster! Trains dispatch every 36 seconds. There was giant lines and it only was about a 25 minute wait and for the amount of peeps in line it was just amazing how fast they had it going. Also it was an extremely fun ride too, much better then I expected. I can't say that the other rides had as good of capacity but fairly good. Like 2Hostyl said, all Disney parks have really great, maybe even the best capacity.

For single ride, I'd have to agree with CA Screamin'. For park, I was really impressed with CP (with the exception of the Canoes...they had the turntable turning oh so painfully slowly)

"I'll bet that thing hits 5 Gs going through that loop.....faaar ooouut!"
Well I was going to say BGW but then John Peck said what he said and I have to agree!  BGW has my favorite coaster of all time (Apollo's Chariot [I know, I know but what can I say, I'm an airtime junkie!])  and although the lines only went past the silver hand rails which was the impressive part!  It was still about a 10-15 minute wait.  There were only two trains running and the annoying announcer didn't launch the train until the other train entered the final brakes!  I'd hafta say SFGAm but on crowded days, the lines are still unbearable!

2Hostyl is true, no parks can come close to the Disney parks!

Concerning DLP, beside one or two exception, Peter Pan Flight ( 900 an hour, ughhhh ) and Dumbo ( 400-500 an hour ), all the rides got excellent capacity. Star Tours is around 1700-1800 for 6 cabins running. Big Thunder Mountain is 2500 with 5 trains! Indiana Jones is 1400 with 6 trains running, Phantom Manor PPH is nice 2200 an hour.

HISTA ( Honey, I shrunk the Audience ) capacity can vary from 1200 to 1600, depending on the film language and the guests in the park. Orbitron has fewer "shuttles" than Dumbo, loading is more complex and even then, they still get 650 an hour. You see them after work, sweating from running all day!

Space Mountain... Yes, its can run 5 trains, with a train launching every 36 seconds. It is possible thanks to groupers ( one for each station at 5 trains ), dual station, the ability to quickly get extra trains on ( on a 3 minutes notice, BTW ) and the lack of airgates. These whould slow operation a lot! But, lack of airgates means more work for the cast members, as you have to make sure nobody jumps on the track or moving train...

Pirates of the Caribbean gets a very nice 2800 an hour, with 26 boats on the ride. Its a Small world easily gets over 3000 on busy days!

On the other hand, for "abyssimal" capacity, SF Belgium take the crown. They got a Vekoma Boomerang, a Vekoma Corkscrew with a single train and completely manual harnesses! ( its gets around 300-400 an hour ), Turbine, a Schwarzkopf shuttle ( flywheel ) that gets a dispatch every 5 minutes.... A Vekoma mine train ( not bad, but still, crawling lines ) and Were Wolf, a woodie that got a chain so slow that the theoritical PPH is 815!!!!
