What Is Tomb Raider The Ride?

I am most likely going to PKI this year, where I know a new addition is Tomb Raider The Ride. I have no clue as to what type of ride this is at all. The only news I have found is that it is "based on the Tomb Raider video games and the Paramount motion picture starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft." Could someone please clue me in as to the nature of the actual ride?

It's an enclosed giant huss top spin with lots of theming in the queue and ride. It was very overhyped i heard, but the theming was nice

Not overhyped. Its a great ride that you should ride with an open mind and no loose articles. ;)

It is defineitely a lot more then a flat ride in a box and I would suggest you ride it before you make that assumption.

It's a great ride be sure not to miss it when you hit PKI

A Top Spin in a Box.

Top Spin in a Box? Is that the best you can do?

That person has likely never ridden this before or been through the queue line before or he would know there are at least 3 "boxes" to the entire Tomb Raider: The Ride complex, this is a GIANT Top Spin, and that's just the bare bones bottom of the barrel answer for you. If someone is going to give that simple of an answer, couldn't you at least mention that it's a DARK RIDE.

Besides what I've already said, PKI has made this the most elaborately themed attraction I have seen come from any seasonal amusement park and the ride unit itself is huge! You won't believe this is any normal type of flat ride once you're inside. The theming aspect on the ride puts you in the experience with a few flips and drops and some major close-ups. The intensity doesn't match something like Face/Off or Flight of Fear, but I assume the park wanted as many people who could ride to ride without getting overly sick or anything to go along with their family ride streak. Take in the experience as a normal dark ride and I think you'll come out with a positive view of it.

I don't think I even got to the pre-shows, which would make for a great haunted walk-through attraction on their own.

That's my rambling for the day and I hope it helped. :)

Yes, KoasterKing, CstrFrk said his opinion and nearly, that's what I felt about the "3 boxes". Without the theming, what is it? I enjoyed it, but will never ride it again. The theming made the ride. The ride is lackluster at best. I had more fun riding the Flying Eagles down the path, than Tomb Raider. I realize we all have our humble opinions, but overall, it's a top spin in a box and well under the hype presented in early spring.

It's a highly themed, totally immersive dark ride ADVENTURE!!

That's all I have to say about that.. :)

Raven-Phile hit it on the head, but I have to restate what MagnumForce said: NO LOOSE ARTICLES. I have worn my glasses *with croakies* on every ride imaginable, and had never had any fear of them falling off, until TR:TR. I actually felt them slipping.....the ride WILL shake you. Kinda like a bully in the schoolyard shaking a youngster upside down to get the change to fall out of their pockets...;) - hmmmm. Maybe THAT's how PKI is gonna pay this sucker off?.....ROFL.......

P.S. Ride the FRONT row if at all possible......WAAAAY better......

"Tomb Raider: The Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide" is Exactly what Raven-Phile said. No better way to describe it ;)

As I have said in many other Posts this Ride is Incredible, I Love it. I wouldn't pass it up when you visit.

Anyone who thinks it's just a "flat ride in a box" is a grumpy bastard who doesn't know how to have fun.

There, I said it. ;)

First of all, to me anyway, just seeing a giant Topspin is amazing. I mean, it's giant! The theme is very cool, and I think well done. I can't wait to do it again!

Yep, its a great ride, but don't get to high of expectations because thats what ruins the ride if you think to highly of it. I love the ride and being a CBuzzer I bet you will too.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

I agree with Jeff's grumpy bastard theory. I think this ride kicks ass. Hey Josh, hows it going. I like "It's a highly themed, totally immersive dark ride ADVENTURE!! -- IN A BOX"

You don't have to shout. Do you know how many internet etiquette laws your breaking by typing in all caps like that? Well........your breaking one. Don't type in all caps.

Here we go "Tomb Raider: The Ride is a totally new emersive dark ride experience". TR:TR is actually hard to explain, you are seated into 3 rows (25 or 26 per row) you are then fliped and moved up and down and so on.I think the theming for TR:TR is great.

Jeff,

First off, I'm not a grumpy bastard that does not know how to have fun. Secondly, it's an inside joke between a few of us that went the day before SRM. Finally, the question was, "What is Tomb Raider the Ride?" I answered it. Sure it's themed well, but the basic gist of it is an indoor top spin. Ban me if you want for saying this, but if somebody that runs a site calls one of their patrons a 'bastard', they have no manners and no initiative to running a reputable site.

You're probably going to reply with "If you don't like the way I manage my site, then leave." Well, you may get a problem with that if you keep calling everybody that posts sarcasm a 'bastard' when you don't even know them.

There, I said it. ;-)

CsTrFrK: Have a Prozac. I never even read your post, I was just stating my general opinion not directed toward anyone in particular.

How am I supposed to know that? I just see somebody that quoted what I said and called them a bastard.

How are we supposed to know you were being sarcastic?

You don't...but that still doesn't give anybody, especially the webmaster, a right to call me a or anybody a bastard; whether they directed it or not.

If your really evil in this life, do you come back as toilet paper????
ladies and gentlemen, due to an increase in line jumping, people caught cutting in line will no longer be ejected from the park. u will be ejected from the ride

Jeff Seibert told us at CBCon that its about 800 peeps per hour. It holds 77 peeps but the the ride cycle is 2:30 plus load time. They try to do ten cycles an hour.
