What is the timline of Six Flags Parks

Premier bought G.Lake in '96-Which was Funtime at the time.
1996- Mind Eraser and Grizzly Run
1997- Mr. Hyde and Hook's Lagoon
1998- Serial Thriller and also in '98 Premier bought Six Flags
1999- Time W4rp, New Ferris Wheel, Skycoaster
2000- Six Flags makeover
So technically G.Lake bought Six Flags. When I tell people that they look at me as if I was crazy. I guess, they just decided to convert the park at a later date.

Now remember boys and girls G.Lake bought Six Flags. Six Flags did not buy G.lake!

The reason I heard Gurnee got The American Eagle(could very well be a rumor) was that the Gurnee, IL park was doing much better than CA. (Did CA even have room if they would have put the Eagle in the same spot as IL? Never been there.) Once again, don't know if that is true.

The park planned for Washington D.C. in 1978 was cancelled. They both got The Demon reprofile/ rethemeing in 1980 and The Edge in 1983. CA's raft ride was added later in 1988, I think.

Does anyone know why Six Flags didn't buy both Great America's?

Magic Mountain opened in 1971 and was bought and "branded" as six flags in 1979.

The orginal Magic Mountain was built by Newhall Land and Farming Co. which built the masterplanned township of Valencia. The park was designed to be the focal point of this new suburb. It is a little known fact that the creators of Sea World helped in its design and construction.

I believe that it went like this... another company bought the California park, a real estate developer who intended to tear the park down and build a residential development. The city stepped in, acquired the park, hired KECO to manage the park, then sold the park to KECO outright, and KECO in turn was later bought by Paramount (the Reader's Digest condensed version there). Six Flags didn't buy both because one was already sold.
SFEG (1995!)

BTW Geauga Lake was aqquired in 1995, Mind Eraser and Grizzly Run opened that year, 1998 was when Serial Thriller was added. BTW DL & Gl were never aqquired by SF, Funtime used to own them, then i believe Funtime was bought out or changed into Premier, then Premier bought SF from Ted Turner, so DL & Gl were never aqquired by SF.
