I know that SFoT was the first because at that time, when it opened, Texas was under 6 flags of the world. Thats were the name 6 flags came from.

it's sfot-1961,sfog-1967,sfmm1971.graet adventure was originally built and owned by the Marriott corparation.
Assuming you're only talking "flagged" parks and not any of the Movie Worlds, waterparks, or properties.

* are positives
The three originals:
*1)SFOT(61)
*2)SFOG(67)
*3)SFOMA or SFStL as it's known today(71)

The next:

*4)SFAW(75)
*5)SFGAdv(77)
*6)SFMM(79)
*7)SFAW(84)

I'm positive about 8-9, 10-11 are shaky, the rest is pretty close.

*8)SFFT(96?)
*9)SFKK(97?)
10)SFEG(97?)
11)SFMW(98)
12)SFDL(98-99)
13)SFA(99)
14)SFWoA(00)
15)SFNE(00)
16)SFH(00)
17)SFM(00)
*18)SFB(01) *** This post was edited by Koaster King on 6/26/2001. ***
I thought Magic Mountain didn't become a Six Flags name brand until the early 80's.....

Maybe it's just me.

Acually, Great America in Gurnee, IL was originally built by the Marriott corp. Great Adventure was built by Werner LeRoy. You can read the basic outline of that park's origins on ThrillRide! on the Medusa ride review.

I'm pretty sure Six Flags purchased SFGAm in 1983 or 84 from Marriott. But I don't know for sure... but it was in the early 80's.

Tidal Wave- R.I.P End of 1991.
Why did SFoG have to steal our treasure... :(
sf saint lois was called mid america that was an early sf.
Great America was acquired by Six Flags (A Bally Company) in the off season of 1984-1985. The last ride added under Marriott's was in 1984, White Water Rampage (Roaring Rapids). The brochure for 1985 season introduces SFGAm as "new." The new ride for that year was Z-Force.

Jeffery Seifert posted a great message on r.r.c. back in November. The dates he gives are

1961 Texas
1965/55 Georgia
1971 Mid America now St. Louis (last original Six Flags park)
1975 AstroWorld
1977 Great Adventure
1979 Magic Mountain
1984 Great America
1996 Fiesta Texas
1998 bought by Premier Parks

That was all I have from the post. It goes into much more detail. Hopefully you can still find it!

If SFGAm became a SF park in the 84-84 season, wouldn't PGA have an American Eagle since that opened in 81? I'm probably 80% wrong, but didn't the two great america's have the same rides up until the year they seperated? Since they both had Tidal Waves. *** This post was edited by MF#1RB#2BVL on 6/26/2001. ***
Is there a timeline of Premier before they bought SF?

Well, no. The original concept for the Marriott's Great America parks (which were intended to be a chain, dotting the country with Great Americas) called for each park to identical in all ways. Within a few years of the parks opening in 1976, Marriott Corp. realized the importance of having attractions unique to each park. American Eagle was built at the Chicago park; I believe the California park got or was going to get something unique as well, but I don't recall the details.
Didn't PGA get Grizzly? I think it opened in 1981.
