What is the best amusement park that you have been to?(In general)

I would say Six Flags Great Adventure...i love this park and the rides it has. The lines and the ops can be annoying some days ...but that's just some days.

Knoebels is my favorite park. Holiday World, Indiana Beach, Kennywood, Lake Compounce, and Wildwood NJ Piers, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and Dollywood are also favorites.

That being said....

You should know that topics like this ["Best ______ "] are against the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for an account. You might want to avoid these kinds of topics in the future.

Who can pick just one?

Cedar Point, Holiday World, Kennywood, Knoebels, SFOG, Hersheypark, SFA (for the selection of coasters), Dollywood........

I agree with Tina for a lot of mine..

Cedar Point, Knoebels, SFGADV, SFA, Hershey, Dorney....

CP was amazing, going back next June to ride Maverick

Though I like CP for rides, GL for some of the rides and CLP for it's history and the Blue STreak, I'd have to pick DollyWood for favorite over-all park. It had the best food, the most friendly employees and was simply the most beautiful. I look forward to going there again next year.

If I had to pick one, it would be Knoebels. There's an atmosphere like no other park I've been to.

"Best" is so subjective. There's more to a park than the sum of it's parts.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".

Cedar Point because of the atmosphere and awesome coasters, Hershey because of great coasters as well as the chocolate factory, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg because it's the most beautiful park ever and it's coasters. *** Edited 8/27/2005 2:44:49 PM UTC by Ride of Steel***
7 posts and nobody has said, "I really liked TOS!" What's this place coming to?

P.S.- Islands of Adventure r0x0rs.

Most of us know it will be closed in a matter of a few seconds. Just like several other of this guy's posts.

Well since we are having fun with this......;-)

It's very difficult to pick a "best". I like different parks for different reasons.

Cedar Point is my favorite "thrill" park. You have the adrenalizing rides, the arcade, and a killer staff. My favorite "chain" park. Oh, and Dragster, Magnum, and Raptor. DUH! ;-)

Dollywood and Holiday World have the charm and the down-home family atmosphere, as well as the best woodies in the world. You feel like you are visiting relatives when you visit these parks. Very securing and comforting. The staffs, the food....best I have come across. You can walk around Dollywood all day and not ride anything and STILL have a great time. I could spend a whole day in Splashin Safari in the lazy river and be happy. It's just amazing that parks like these can exist in the Smokies and cornfields, respectively. lol. I would take these parks over 85% of the "chain" parks anyday.

Knoebels also has the charm, but in more of a traditional park sort of way. I can't quite explain it. Plus there is just something magical about Knoebels in the fall, riding Phoenix at nightime. WOW!

Six Flags Over Georgia.....sort of a "down-home" feeling. Very good selection of coasters and my favorite out of all the Six Flags parks. The staff are amazing and the park is very well-kept. I just like Atlanta. :-)

Kennywood......this one a can't quite place my finger on. I am always raving about Kennywood. Well, you have the best of all the worlds....an amazing steel, three very well-maintained classic woodies, a crazy mouse, and a well-balanced selection of flats, and the best damn fries in the world. Everytime I visit this park I keep loving it more and more.

Six Flags America......my "dream" park as far as what I like in coasters....an Intamin hypers, a GCI twister, a classic out-and-back that ROCKS, a non-painful invertigo, a Vekoma flyer, and a crazy twisted LIM. Take out the SLC and put in PKI's Drop Zone and Delirium and you have it!

Hersheypark......do I need to explain? LIGHTNING RACER! :-) Na, another overall awesome park experience. Very beautiful park, great selection of well-maintained coasters, etc.

Oh, I forgot about Busch Gardens Williamsburg.....

Beautifully landscaped, awesome food, and the few coasters they have completely blow me away. You may spend hours walking but it's never boring. Very *romantic* park.

Absolute Favorites (at least today anyway): Knoebels, Hersheypark, Kennywood, Dollywood

Why Knoebels: Atmosphere, PHOENIX / FLYERS / SKOOTERS

Why Hersheypark: Sentiment, atmosphere, operations, COMET and SOOPERDOOPERLOOPER (that sentimentality thing coming in again... my first BIG coasters many years ago)

Why Kennywood: Atmosphere, great collection of classic rides including THUNDERBOLT

Why Dollywood: Atmopsphere, STAFF STAFF STAFF. Most efficient and friendly staff I've ever ran into (Sorry CP... some of us... a few of us... [a very few of us it seems]... finds the "entertainment" that the staff feels they have to supply a bit "tiring".)

Isn't it interesting that despite these topics being taboo, many people do enjoy providing their opinions? Discussion is good, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

True, but if we do provide our "opinion," we are saying the same thing every time. What we want around here is new conversation, not the same stuff you get at every other coaster website.

Whatever happened to Coasterbuzz? ;)

Oh, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach - need I say more?

Heh, still here after 7 hours. Anyway, my top five:

Great Adventure
Islands of Adventure
Knotts
Cedar Point
King's Dominion

Fate is the path of least resistance.

If Knoebels had a hyper it would be my favorite park but since it doesn't I have to go with Kennywood.
I would say Cedar Point is the best park I've been to. Almost every time I have been there they had every ride working and if they broke down they were up within 30 minutes to an hour. Not to mention the variety and good food. BGW and PKI are right there behind Cedar Point though and I love them as much.

tears are just as good as sweat
Best overall park would be Magic Kingdon at WDW. It may not have the most thrilling rides but it has everything else a excellant park would have and is a escape from reality.
And best non-disney/universal park would be BGW, a park that has excellant rides/atmopshere/theming that are second to none.
