What if CP doesn't add anything for 2002?

We now know that CP has purchased Michigan Adventure (It's Official). We also know that CP runs each park on their own budget. But for it's first year and this highly competive market; Do you suppose that CP may pull funds to MA and fore go a new coaster for cp next year?
Let's say they did.
How would you react to that?

I know that the Jourdens (sp?) have some long term plans for the park (my mother worked there a few summers and I had the opportunity to talk to family members), including a steel coaster, a motel, campground... Cedar Fair may stick with the Jourden's plans for the nex tfew years, simply augmenting their planned expansion. (Maybe they'll finally get rid of that wierd dog with Aussie accent mascot in favor of Snoopy...)

As what has been said before, what goes on in Sandusky will not affect what goes on in Michigan,or vice versa. They may follow existing plans, like Slithernoggin says, or draw up a completely new master plan.We shall see.
CP is running out of room for building a lot of new rides. It may have to remove some older rides to add some new ones. MA has tons of room for rides. CP's space is limited without removal.

I feel a presence, it wants to speak to us... it says... "Cedar Point does not have a space problem..." ... ... ... I'm sorry, that's all, the seance is over.

CP has 66 acres in the parking lot that's almost the size of the The Magic Kingdom WDL, if they remove Soak City's Parking and moved Campers Villiage to the main land, you would probably have 80 to 100 acres total.

I highly doubt that CP will relocate Camper Village since they just spent so much money updating it. Removal of Soak City's parking lot wouldn't be a good idea either, IMO. This is a very convient way for those people/families to get to Soak City as their only destination. There are many other areas within the park itself prime for expansion without any drastic changes coming to parking or lodging.

You've missed the point completely. I was just suggesting that once and for all CP does not have a space problem. I agree with you 100%. I'm just pointing out the not so obvious point of view. people think that CP has no real estate left.
There's a ton of space within the existing landscape for more attractions. Not to mention plenty of missed used land waiting for development for years to come.
Well what happens is they get nothing...

If FoF got that great of a makeover than why can't I?
They will. That's Cedar Fair's #1 park. They will not go (2) years in a row with no new rides.
I think it would be kind of cool if they didn't produce anything next year the wait and see approach.
Actually, if you go to Cedarpoint.com and read the FAQ I think, it says quite clearly CP does not have a space problem yet.

Also CP will definatly add something in 2002, CP are still very pissed they are losing the rollercoaster title this year so will want to get back at SFMM immediatly, no dought it will be the rumoured TA2K(Double Ride) Lets Hope

What are you, the Cedar Fair spokesman? And what is Cedar Fair as a whole to be "pissed" off at Magic Mountain. That's just talk. CP is an Ohio based park, SFMM is California based. They don't CARE WHAT THE OTHER PARK DOES OR DOES NOT DO!
YAY!! ANother park for CF to ruin!!!

LOL love that
I don't agree with everyone saying they don't care if they have the most rollercoasters in the world. For one if they didn't care why would they market that they are the park with the most rollercoasters in the world. Number 2, If they don't care sfmm took it why would they go and say superman the escape is not a rollercoaster. also in a way having the most coasters in a park is like having the tallest coaster in a park. It is a record. Having records increases the gp, and as we all know the more gp the more profits. I don't think cp is going to go another year without adding a coaster.
How would I react if Cedar Point didn't add a fifteenth (sixteenth?) coaster in 2002?

...

Boycott!

I'm hearin ya!! They ALWAYS add something new, whether it be a ride or a new attraction, they always add something. But I know we would all love it if they put in a new coaster!!

It would be sooooo cool if Cedar Fair bought out Six Flags or vice versa (even though it would never happen),i would love to see that becuase it would combine the best of both worlds and it would only make a park 10 times better!,and it would also shut alot of people up!
