What I hate about CoasterBuzz...

That's along the lines of what I was thinking Jman.

Now don't get me wrong, I hold you in the higest regard Dave, and I think of you as one of the more respectable, intellegent people on this site, so know that I don't mean to offend you by the following, but if every one else gets to speak their mind, then I want to:

It may "technically" be hypocrital, but:

You know what I hate about CoasterBuzz? People that whine about what they hate about CoasterBuzz.

I am sure Jeff appreciates the good intentions, but please leave the moderation to the moderators. Thanks!

The Raging Bull #1!!
Hate is such a strong word isn't it?? Thank God the site is moderated or else we would get trash bubbling over re-treaded refuse. The people who whine are using negatives to get a stir out of people who will listen......Too bad, since we have too much fun riding and talking about our rides!
This is great site, and same for the mods. I do get concerned over some of the remarks directed to a newbie's post, just as coo man chu. So what if someone already asked "What is your favorite coaster?" a month ago? Have you tried to look through all the topics that get posted in a month? If a new person posts a topic that is old or boring to you-skip it! Remarks like "...for the zillionth time my favorite is" are deconstructive. Some of the snotty replies of late have been out of line. I know some folks are just joshing, but a person's sense of humor doesn't always come through, regardless of how many winky faces you add. *** This post was edited by Coasterbob on 5/8/2001. ***
Agreed Jman...very true. RideMan, I can't resist asking you, when did you become a moderator? It seems like you're trying to play a part by telling people what's appropriate and what's not. Surely we both agree that moderation should be left to the moderators, as SFGA_FAN said. CoasterBuzz would be even better if we could see less of some types of posts, and buzzers complaining about other buzzers falls in that category IMO.

PLEASE READ: This post wasn't meant to offend or anger anyone; I apologize in advance if it does. So please don't post a reply just to rant about it. :)
Yeah, Rideman has it all right.

Back in '99 you wouldn't believe how fewer posts there were. You could get through every new post in all the forums within an hour. Now, it's hard to read through the threads with everyone bickering all the time. It you have a problem, either contact the webmaster one-on-one, or bite your tongue and let it go.

...he's been around quite a while (for over 2 years) so he knows what he's talking about. Do you see him bickering to the moderators because, "my thread got closed...why?"--No!

As far as I'm concerned, he's just a moderator that would rather not be stressed by having to delete or close repetitive or pointless threads.
As stated in the FAQ!!

"A true moderated forum isn't for everybody, and it takes some getting used to. Part of the reason this site was created was to foster discussion that wasn't like every other forum, namely the same tired "versus" debates and favorite lists. We, like most of you, have a passion... a love of amusement parks and coasters. This is our place to come and enjoy each other's company, discussions, debates and intellectual conversation about that passion. Your cooperation in our mission will result in a clean, fresh and fun environment!

Enjoy!"
