What? This is rediculous! why charge for Track Record, Personal Buzz and Meeting Calendar when they have always been free? It must just be to get members to join the club.
This is why people going on killing rampages. Stupid comments. Jeff could just take the whole site away. That comment just makes me want to scream. Ungrateful Son of a B...

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the place to be for top notch thrills in 2002! X is the ultimate thrill machine!
However, I am not complaining. This is by far the best coaster site out there. I WILL be joining eventually, but right now, event $20 is a good chunk of money to me. :(

Don't you think you are over-reacting? It was not a stupid comment at all. He has a right to be upset because a feature he previously used free of charge now cost money. I think you need to calm down.

For the record... I was one of the complainers about charging for items previously free. However, not any more. No, I did not join the "club" (and for the record its not in my imediate plans), I just stopped complaining. The only thing no longer available that I used was the track record. Since I kept a detailed track record in Excel for myself (manufacturer, date of first ride, number of rides in x year, etc), its no real loss except that no one else can click on it on the site and see it (oh, the vanity).
So... to those who complain... knock it off. If you have Excel or any spreadsheet, use that to keep track of your record (or even a paper note book... you know, those things people used BEFORE computers... will work).
As to those Club members (and others) who like to resort to "name calling" to those who do complain... knock it off. While it has been officially stated by some in other posts, the intent of the club is not to create a "class" system, however it appears that there are those who are in fact drawing that line. Again, knock it off. No one forced you to join, please stop trying to pressure those who have chosen not to at this time to come on board.

the main purpose of this site is to get news to people and to let people talk to each other. that is free. its all the extra stuff that you have to pay for so you are being ripped off in no way. granted the extra things used to be free, but they were rarely used and can be easily replicated. as was mentioned above, use a spreadsheet to keep your track record. want somebody to go to a park with you? call your friends. friends can't go? post a message about the park and include that you're planning on going on a certain day and invite the buzzers to meet up with you.

But the fact is that ad revnue is $400/month, and the Net connection to Sprint alone is $1,200/month. You do the math.
