What happened to the inverted?

As many people are aware, Kennywood is adding Volcano Valley this year with the new Top Spin as the centerpeice. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but Kennywood only had two lands, Kennywood and Lost Kennywood. So it seems to me that if Kennywood is making a new land, they have a something planned for it. Now people could say that Lost Kennywood doesn't have a major ride and its a land, but Lost Kennywood is suppoused to be a trip to what Kennywood was like back in the early years of Kennywood, so it has a lot of nostalgia rides and it does have Exterminator and Pittsburgh Plunge there. So I think that Volcano Valley is gonna have a new MAJOR attraction there next year because a used Huss Top Spin isn't exactly something to hang your hat on.

I think the park will announce either a BM Inverted or a BM Floorless. I am leaning toward the Inverter with the plunge off the cliff you all spoke of. I think Volcano Valley with a new BM Inverted would be a very nice addition to Kennywood.

While I'd love to debunk everyone one by one, let's leave it at this: None of you are even remotely close.

Wanna know what's going on? Narrow it down by eliminating everything you see above; especially everything from a certain "we're getting 5 new coasters in the next 10 years" joker who seems to think that if he makes stuff up it'll come true.

There will be a HUSS (pronounced Hoos) Top Spin for 2003.
You mean I've been pronouncing it wrong this whole time? My friends are gonna have a hoot (pronounced "hut." wow, bad joke) when I speak about HUSS Top Spins now! Oh boy!

A B&M inverted or floorless would be great, but so would a B&M dive machine. That would be wicked back behind the Exterminator and to have a dive towards the Mon would be awesome. I could really see them adding a Boomerang or Impulse in Volcano Valley, for the simple reason that it would be more practical in that area since there isn't really that much space in that area.

Yea, plus it would be the only park in the US with one and could bring back the inversions with a loop, Id love that.

The Jokes on You!! Ha Ha
How big is Volcano Valley? Is it large enough for a floorless or an inverted or a dive machine? Now that I think about it, a dive machine would be cool there, but BM hasn't made a dive machine in quite a few years and that probaly means that no parks want it. If Kennywood wanted a vertical drop roller coaster, they might get a Vekoma Tilt instead of a BM dive machine. A Vekoma Tilt is more recent and has been made with loops and would be the first of its kind in America.

I don't know why Kennywood would create a new land if they have no plans to add a coaster or a high profile ride there. Does anyone know why the park would do this?

Moosh, the sad thing is some dim-witted fool out there will actually believe you... :)

The only difference between stupidity and genius is genius has limitations.

While we are throwing out the rumors, why not mention the fact that according to screamscape, there was someone from then CCI at the park. I would think that possibly a Gravity Group wooden would be more realistic than a super B & M or Intamin, if anything is going to come at all in the near future. This is just a thought.
The CCI posting to Screamscape wasn't exactly confirmed information, though.

Not only was it not confirmed, it was not true!

Some top bananas from Vekoma were wandering around this year, too, but I don't see one of theirs in the future, either. They were actually at the park to see what we had instead of the other way around!

People from manufacturers and other parks are always checking out what's out there. It means nothing to see them at a park. There are a lot of rides we buy where a company rep never shows up until the thing is delivered.

The only things that have been announced and confirmed for this 2003 season, is KW has recieved a HUSS topspin now renamed as the "King Kahuna" The King Kahuna is being placed between Noah's ark and the Huss enterprise. Speaking of the Huss enterprise, the enterprise is changing it's name to "Volcano" The Huss ride will be themed just like a volcano with smoke coming out rocks, cool lighting and theming too:) With the Volcano Valley...I'm not a 100% on how this whole things lays but the Huss Pirate, Volcano, and the King Kahuna will all three be featured in the Volcano Valley. The King Kahuna is being themed like a Hawian theme. to go along along with the Volcano Valley. The Roll-O-Plane that was in Lost Kennywood, now won't be returing to the park this season. It is up for sale. Plus hundereds of other improvements to the park as well:)

I hope this all made sense to you all.

Brenton - any idea why the O-Plane is going away and if it will reappear at another KW park? It would be a good fit for Idlewild.

Actually, I don't at the moment I do know there are a couple of people looking into the ride. There is actually a RUMOR that it may go to Idlewild, if that is true that would be great to keep the ride in one of Kennywood's sister parks:)

I think I recall someone calling the Roll-o-Plane a maintence nightmare on another board. It was down a good bit with maintence issues this season. Maybe kpjb can shed some light on it's maintence issues.

------------------
My mind works in strange ways. Yeah with a chain driven lift hill and gravity.

Well I do remember the Roll-o-plane was down for most of the 2001 season because of a part can't remember??? I think it was also hard for people to operate the ride. And the last thing alot of people didn't like the ride because you got bounced around all over the place. Plus the Capacity for the ride was awful. That's all I know..

Volcano Valley isn't big at all, in fact it isn't actually a new area, rather an old area being rethemed. In fact, Kennywood actually had to remove something (the bathrooms) just to make room for King Kahuna, so I highly doubt we'll even see a smaller coaster in that area.

IMO, I think Kennywood's next coaster will be a woodie, but they're always so full of surprises that it's impossible to predict anything they will do. :)
