What else is Cedar Point going to get?

Could anything make Mean Streak a world-class ride?

When I rode Mean Streak in 1993, it was a world-class ride.  While it lacked the features of a "traditional" wooden coaster (namely, airtime), I found the ride to be fast, furious, and quite disorienting.  And then it rained!
Just like Hercules and the Riverside/SFNE Cyclone, Mean Streak was once a respected coaster (although I believe it always lived in the shadow of the similar-but-wilder Texas Giant).

Sorry An Impulse doesnt excite me..I mean they already have a bunch of those all over! CP should get something at least original! I was planning to go to CP next year I hope they get something more.
Something original???  Since when is CP known for this?  All of their coasters are just bigger versions of already-exsisting designs.  That includes MF, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Gemini....

A bigger impulse fits perfectly with CP's plan.  Besides, 3 impulses in the U.S. is not exactly "all over."

Yea, they have so many of those all over. Where??? I think you need to check your facts. CP will get something original...the tallest and fastest impulse ever made. How's that for originality? Oh wait, they always have the tallest and fastest of something, hmmmm gee that sucks(extreme sarcasm). If you don't want the impulse, don't get in line. Quite yer griping and go to SFWoA.

Quite frankly, I'm pleased as peach to get an Impulse. And I'd love to see some more flat rides, specifically some of those Huss monsters I've seen. CP has more than enough coasters to keep me happy.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

They need a CCI woodie or a B&M Mega floorless for 2002, An Impulse wont really drive people half way across America is all Im saying..*COUGH* me *COUGH* If there getting something else besides an Impulse That will be great. They also need to take care of Mean Streak cause They obviously suck at maintaning woodies like at SF parks.
Yeah, SNFE Guy, they "obviously" suck at taking care of woodies.  And  you would "obviously" know that, because you've ridden it, right?  Or have you never been off the East Coast, as your track record says?

Maybe if you'd ridden an impulse, you'd be excited.  Maybe if you'd been to Cedar Point and realized they don't often make bad decisions, you'd be excited.  Maybe, if you were old enough to have a driver's license, which I suspect you aren't, you'd be excited about driving to CP.  Maybe you should be excited that you have the time, technology, money, ability and freedom to ride coasters in this time of war, instead of whining.

An impulse is fine with me but in another post Jeff did point out that they are getting something along with the impulse.
Florida and Texas, I just got back from SFOT. Now take a breath everyhting is going to be alright....Im not attacting everyones Ohio park shhh calm.....Yeah Im 16 I wont be driving to Ohio any time soon.

Personally... I'm just waiting for the stats on the new Impulse.

If it's a double impulse (for capacity reasons, ankin to Magic Mountain's Superman), then I guess I'd be happy as that being the only new ride.

If it's a record breaking height, such as 410 feet, and actually almost reaches that height, then I'll also be happy with that as the only new ride.

If it's neither of the first two... I sincerely hope they get a couple new flats, such as a Huss Giant ride or something.

Proud to be an American!!

Does Huss have a web site where I can see all of these "Giant Rides"
srosatsfne: http://www.hussrides.com ... some neat stuff involving the giant rides! (including a way you can operate and ride them yourself in 3d.. although many people not articulate with computers and the internet have trouble getting it to work...)

An impulse is an excellent addition that conserves space and provides some excellent thrills. I find it amazing that in only two years many people have become bored with impulse coasters. When S:UE first debut, everyone was shocked and thought it was unbelieveable, now we are talking about something much larger with more rotation and people are complaining about it. Just doesn't make any sense at all. BTW Trbeggar, Big chief has three CCI that look prety amazing, so some people are envious (including me)of that even though one might be considered a family ride!!!

Why don't you come and live in Denver and have Elitch Gardens be your home park. Then I'll move to Ohio and go to Cedar Point every weekend.Try having Elitch Gardens as your home park and haven't gotton any new coaster at the park since 1999. I sure would love an impulse at Elitch Gardens.

How can you be disappointed with an impulse? I would love getting an impulse at Elitch Gardens. I agree with TriBiggar on "spoiled brats."

wow...I totally agree, WoF would kill for an impulse or any coaster. Dont whine about getting a fantastic coaster every year.

Mamba; The inspiration for SD2K. It doesnt get much better than that. Come to the Midwest;and ride the most underrated coaster in the U.S.

Well, whatever they get, I can't wait.  Just started planning my first trip there for next season.

The Great Escape- Home of the Reject Coasters!
If I'm right, what afew quote, "selfish" people may have meant was, they have already experienced an impulse type ride and want a new thrill!  That's the whole reason for traveling to other park to experience new rides and I don't really call it complaing when they say it will be a dissappointment if Cedar Point would build this type of coaster.  CP has been build thrills almost since it's existence therefore causing some Midwestern folks and other to expect the very best when they debut a new ride for the season.  An impulse type ride in some peoples eyes would not be the very best the park could give based on what CP has built for us in the past.  Therefore I will not bash those people.  Sorry Denver guys and other, but they have the right to think this way.  I realize your parks don't expand like CP, but that's life not all parks CAN.  My opinion is an Impule would make a great addition to the park; I'm excited to see how it will turn out along with the new boardwalk area I'm hearing about by the beach. Do I want something better?  Sure I do.  I would love a coaster that would overpower MF or compare slightly, but I understand the fact that 2001 wasn't their best season as far as $$$ and the previous year took some $25 million out of their bank account.

Long Live Cedar Point!
