What are you thankful for in RCT2?

We have had tons of posts and even a complete thread on how worthless RCT2 is and I just dont buy it. I think that even if this is a glorified expansion it is a damn good one. So what addition(s) to RCT do you like the most..

Heres my short list...

Better looking trains on a lot of the coasters. The B&M trains all look better as do the Arrow looper trains.

Stackable scenery. This is my single favorite improvement. I love to theme and this just rocks.

Being able to save a coaster with the theming. Makes it easy to plop down the entire coaster, paths and all and continue play...

My favorite is the stacked scenery! That stuff rocks!

I also like how the peeps don't get lost when paths are wider now. People look over that.

I like the ability to make Food Courts, they really bring in the cash for the park.

Being able to make wide paths and stacked scenery is also awesome.

I like how you can not only save coasters you build now, but you can also theme and save thrill rides you build.

I think my favorite thing so far is the ability to auto-raise and lower rides and stalls as you place them. I love the 'ghost' 3-d image that gets displayed during construction too. Being able to raise a stall up to an elevated path, or place a bathroom along an underground path, is wonderful. This is a huge advantage, and a great addition. Not having to remove trees one-by-one is great too. The whole "ride construction" and "stall placing" thing is just so much better.

The BEST thing about this game is the bulldozing of the scenery! Also when you have a lot of trees in an area you can still build a rollercoaster through the tree's and they automatically dissapear as you build through the tree's!! I LOVE that! Those were two of the most annoying parts of the past RCT's.
Banked drops and themed/saved coasters.

The scenery itself is cool, but the fact that you can save it (and paths) with a track is even better. The community aspect has been greatly improved in that respect because it makes the game elements far more portable.

Really? That buldozer seems pretty useless to me. I mean, since you can just build rides through existing trees, and they're auto-removed, I'm not sure of what use this bulldozer thing is. (shrug) It seems redundant to the fact that you don't need to manually remove trees and stuff when building a new ride (one of the other major new bonuses in the game), isn't it? Am I missing something?

By FAR, the best new thing for me is the block brakes. Not only does it keep things fresh by giving a new aspect to think of when building coasters, but it also elimated the annoying station brake failure!

My second favorite thing are the new sounds. I love the different lift sounds and B&M roar...block brake hiss is cool too. However, I have run across two sounds that bother me...the single scream and the squeeky door. Not too bad if you have just one door, but on a ghost train, well...it gets tiresome! (Oh..for those that might not know yet..you can use doors on some of the coasters even!)

And I guess my third thing would be the signs and scenery. I am absolutely addicted to those signs! :) The only problem is that they aren't long enough for some of my ride names and cut off the name. I'd love to be able to import a graphic the way the Texas Giant sign was done. I am sure there is a way and that someone out there will figure out how to do it though. ;)

The blocking is the best thing. It adds some much needed realism in terms of building and running coasters.

Stacked scenery is also quite quite cool, as are the new sound effects.

I also enjoy the peep interaction much more. I like how they watch rides and comment while you're building new ones. The park feels much more alive.

Oh, and I'm proud to say that after about 25 game years of flawless operation, my Deja Vu clone finally vallied. How's that for realism? It made my day.

I still think its cool that the bulldozing is in the game because when I'm done with a ride and I make the queue and I want to add scenery in certain places around the queue, it makes it easier and quicker for me to do what I want to do by removing all of the trees surrounding the queue.

That I got it early

I am really on the fence as to trying to decide whether to buy the game. Can someone give me a really good argument for why I *SHOULD* purchase the game? Thanks.

Once again I am astounded by Chris Sawyer's brilliant approach to maintaining the essence of this great game. The new coaster types, additional themeing, the new raise/lower options for rides, stalls, etc., the bulldozing option, the ride designer, the scenario builder, the splitting out of hard, medium, easy, user scenarios/parks, the new peep AI, more intuitive interface than before (and I thought the original couldn't be topped!)... all of this while maintaining the soul of the greatest game I have ever played! Thank you Chris, my hat's off! Gotta run, more work to do on that impulse... gee, look at that, I can make it pass through the pyramid... cool!

There are three things that have jumped out at me in the short time that I have played:

- The sounds. Wow! Maybe I didn't pay attention that much in the original game, but this time around the sounds that the coasters make are incredible. The B&M "roar" sounds so real it's scary!

- Stackable scenery. Elaborate stations, enclosed rides, tunnels...the possibilities are endless. This is going to pave the way for some pretty creative stuff.

- Banked drops and rises. This makes such a difference it's not even funny. The coasters have such a better flow now, and they will be much more realistic.

I dont know but when i make double wide paths in my park...my park rating starts to drop...i try to do anythin possible to raise it...but it just keeps dropping and saying that guests are getting lost or stuck.
The key with double wide paths is that you have to have a point with them. For example I'll use triple wide paths when I've got shops on both sides so guests can either go to the shop/stall or keep walking straight. This technique works pretty well, and I hope it helps.

Definatley The one thing that I'm most thankful for are the SMARTER PEOPLE! In one of Mygame I accidently deleted some line path and my people didn't leave the line they just waited for me to rebuild it! Also they now actually watch the rides after they have ridden them it is so cool!

Did they change the physics a little. It looks like the rides run alot smoother and faster. I also like being able to build higher as well as stacking scenery, etc.

I am a little dissapointed with the seperating of the coaster types. Sometimes when I didn't have enough money to buy a new rollercoaster I would just change the trains on it and It would be like a new attraction but you can't change a floorless into a standup, a standup into a looper, a looper into a floorless and so on.
