Think there's a chance the Scream Machine will get the new shoulder restraits we have all be wishing for?
Shockwave at SFGAm got new OTSR padding this season so I don't know why GASM wouldn't.

I don't think simple padding will make a difference in turning this ride around. The transitions are so terrible on the first two (GASM & ShockWave). MM's Viper was created using techniques avoided after what was seen as errrors on the previous two.
Is Viper smooth?

No! Not the older one atleast. Hopeful the refurnished one will be smoother.

Compared to GASM and ShockWave, anybody wouldn't hesitate to say YES.
Viper is smooth. Smoothest old school Arrow I've ridden.
Actually the way you ride GASM makes it smooth in my opinion. I rode it in standard seating (back of head touching chair backer) and I really hurt my jaw on one of the turns. Another ride with head out position (where your head sticks out beyond the restraints they way your not suppose to) and it was mildly bumpy with no injury
I don't know why everyone complains about GASM. I experience little to no headbanging on that thing all the time! Ride it in the front or back and you get a nice smooth ride.

SAVE INVADER ZIM!
Firat of all, Kyle is a nut as I know this from past experience. Second, GASM just got new otsr's last winter on the blue and red trains. They're not even comfortable, they're just new hard ones (a little brigter). I wish they would just demolsih the ride or at least make it ride - able. My cousin flys F-16's iin the airforce, and even HE blacked out on that thing.

How much more floorless can they get?
GASM-II = Roughest steel coaster I've ridden. What, does it have potholes in the rails? And I'm an Arrow fan and really like Shockwave @ SFGAm. I dont know what was wrong with GASM part deux

Sorry RCmuzikGuY, I thought you were talking about Viper at Gadv. I've never been on the one in SFMM. I hear it's much smoother than g.a.s.m.. I think they should make restaints like the Chiller had for g.a.s.m.. they would make the ride much more enjoyable. It could also raise the attendance in the Boardwalk area. Most of the time I skip g.a.s.m. because of the pain. Also I can't stand hearing my family and friends complain afterwards.
Its sad but people are always able to bring down sfgavs coasters am i the only one who thinks its a great park ? and also i think all we need are some minor improvements and some new coasters and we will be set, it seems as far as coaster's sf favors sfmm ,i here there trying to have sfmm have 20 coasters in one park and since it has the most coasters and almost one of every kind sfmm is easer to work with they have what 15 coasters all they need is 5 more and they will be pushing 20 coasters and would have all types of records and by that time and it woulda giga park lol
Yes Scream Machine is hella rough but it is certainly not the worst. I just learned last year (After riding this thing for over 7 years) that if you stick yor head out it makes a world of difference.
If the Scream machine is too rough for you, there is an excellent Scrambler off to the left. And I am sure they sell pink panties at the outlets down the road. Enjoy.
Pink's not my color, I prefer a nice teal or turquoise.
I never said GAdv wasn't a good park. In fact it's one of my 10 favorite parks and I cant WAIT to get back there (multiple times) this season. But that doesnt change my assertion that GASM-II and Rotting Lumber are two of the poorest coasters I've ridden. However, the selection of other rides more than makes up for that :)
Oh and Agent Johnson, both times I went in 2001, the scrambler was CLOSED!

Its a shame that the basice rides are not in service all of the time. I will agree that the Woodie their is the worst ride. Its a mental blow to walk all the way to the Rolling Thunder and only have 1 train in operation, they have a less than ambitious operator at the controls. My blood pressure has historically rose when I walk that way.
Rolling Thunder was also violently rough and in need of retracking when I rode last year, pot-holes in the rails seems like a very accurate assessment.
And GASM was pretty poor as well, jaw banging old Arrow. Yuck. People rising to this ride's defense are just sentimental coots.
I generally liked the rest of SFGrAdv's coasters.
SFMM's Viper runs like a Beemer in comparison...I even got MULTIPLE rides! As for Rotting Lumber, I can NOT believe people actually talk of putting ANOTHER woodie in that park...Imagine if they had a woodie that really IS tough to maintain...

Isn't GASM receiving a new paint scheme this season? I noticed they were repainting the white supports (finally) last season and I heard rumors of the ride itself changing to red white & blue. As for being rough, then don't ride it :) Many people still find it enjoyable. I love the out of control not-so-perfect feel the ride has. It also does not hurt if you lean your head just bit forward. Although the transitions aren't great, I have ridden GASM with a smooth ride. It probably depends on how old the wheels are or some other form of maintenance (I'm no expert). I've also heard they are doing some track work on RT. I don't see either ride going anywhere anytime soon though.
