Anyway, I was looking at the coupons near the back of the booklet. Are the admission discounts the best out there or do they have better offers locally? I didnt see any 2 day ticket specials which I hope are available. The rest of the coupons look pretty good when you are inside the park.
Receiving this kind of shocked me because I have never been to the park before and I live near Chicago. Have no fear, I will become a customer of them this year sometime.

My dad or mom gets one every year and so do I. They have been going to CP for a long time and I have been going for a while also. Or the fact we've gone every year as a family since the year the Mean Streak was built (My parents have been going every year longer than that) and have stayed at Hotel Breakers a few times.
This year, the Getaway Guide absolutely SUCKS!!!. It's much, much smaller than years past.
--- It doesn't bother to list ANY campgrounds or places to stay that are within' the area (meaning more than a quarter mile from the park).
--- The coupons available are much less than in last years and years before, including none for any out-side places (such as restaurants or campgrounds)
--- Less descriptions, less ads, and overall smaller.
I'm rather disappointed with it this year. Sure, it was great to get it... but I can't read and re-read it over & over like I have previous "getaway guides" because of the lack of content.

Flume & Hydroblaster Crew for 2002!
There is no discount for the two day ticket because it is actually cheaper this year than it has been in the past. It is only $59 for two days at Cedar Point AND Soak City this year where as it was I think $63 or so last year for just Cedar Point!

Exactly... I've noticed this year that you overall you have to do a lot less hunting for the deals, as many of them are just "out there" to begin with. I'm still pretty shocked that they're doing $89 passes via Tops grocery stores, but then again, the world was a little distracted when they started their pass pre-season sale in September, so I assume sales were soft.

Yeah, weren't season passes $110 last year fro CP (after all the early promotional stuff)? Now they're only $99 at the park? $11 drop is *huge* for one year!
I wonder if that "little" park to the East with their cheap, cheap passes had anything to do with it?

Hey, Shaggy, it's "Sea *$#@&$ WORLD!" LMAO.
Nah... it's just last fall's economy. In the key September weeks following the attacks the place couldn't have scored the pass sales they wanted to. Crowds were a little thin until late October, and I have to think that their fall pass sales outweigh their spring sales. Now they're just making up for lost ground.
