Hey, if I wasn't a Microsoft developer I'd use a Mac too, but seeing as how I depend on Visual Studio to make a living, what can I do?
The sig thing is easy. This version of the forums stores your sig in a cookie. You can get the most recent sig by logging out and back in. The newer version (running on GTTP and headed here some day) gets your sig from the database every time, so you've always got the most current one.
The horizontal scrolling can happen when someone posts something that has no breaks in it. I could write something to parse out these long breakless lines, but for the frequency it happens (about 1 in 10,000 posts if I had to guess), I'd rather spend time on something else.
The easy formatting stuff is unique to IE on Windows. I never understood why Microsoft didn't port that same functionality to Mac IE. Anyway, you're stuck using the good old "forum tags" found by clicking "help" to the left of your text box.

Jeff, are you saying you may be the next person in Mac's upcoming ad in their "switch" campaign?

After Ellen Feiss, they should retire the series. No one can top that.

I have a hard time quoting people - my response always shows up inside the quote bars.
I'm an idiot, okay??????

Ellen Feiss...
Mac users are despondent? Mac users have deep seeded emotional problems? I'm not answering either.
I especially liked the one with the software engineer who couldn't figure out how to make a photo album with his pictures on a Windows machine. Not sure how he got THAT job...

HAHAHAHA Mac's. They're fool proof even an ape could set one up. I love the os. But I prefer PC. Because the only thing macs get good game wise is ports that are stripped down.
Also: Half Life/Counter Strike!!!! Sorry but the best game of all time is only for pc and has no plans for a port anytime soon. I'd just thought I'd love to shove that in the face of all you smug mac users with your bug free os and reliable blue screen of death free G4's and PowerBooks.

I don't understand what all of you are talking about these Mac's not crashing. When we started using the computers in Graphic Arts I crashed three, yes 3, Macs the first day. I have since dropped that class because I'd rather work with Photoshop than Pagemaker. These were running OS X 9, mind you. I have no clue if that makes a difference.
But, I was kinda disappointed because I never got to try out OS X 10 and when I walked in with my class drop sheet there were two brand new "eMac" boxes sitting on the floor. Shucks...

They may have been running OS 9, but OS X 9 is non-existant. OS X is basically OS 10. Anyways, enough of that.
Whatever. MACS???? What? What is this? Lets keep in mind, Apple wouldn't even still be around if it weren't for Bill Gates, and his gobbs of money he gave them, with no "voting priveledges" mind you. That's why it's kind of ironic that Mac people *STILL* think they have a right to slam PC's. And now, the newest OS Mac has put out is based on an operating system that is primary used on PC's. Why is it that most all of Apples advertising campaings deal with trying to make people think Windows sucks? That right there, to me, is a mark of a company that knows it's product is inferior, but instead is trying to brain-wash people into thinking it's not.
Now they build an OS based on BSD? Why? If you want the power of BSD, download FreeBSD, learn it, use it, and have a box that could possibly run for years without a reboot. That's selling out my friends. And word is, OS X is not all that great, and has some problems.
If you think windows sucks, try developing an OS, with the compatibilty, portability, and ease of use as Windows has. If your's is more stable than XP Pro, I'll join ya on your Microsoft sucks bandwagon. Apple has it easy, it makes most of it's own hardware. What about the fact that Macs have topped out at 1.25 Ghz? Intel will have a 3 Ghz chip by years end or first quarter. At one time there was talk of Mac dumping the Motorola Power PC chips and using Intel.........

Eric... most of your claims are incorrect, especially the thing about chip speed. I thought AMD destroyed that dogma, but I guess not.
Yeah, download FreeBSD and install it. Piece of cake. Not. What interface do you suggest they use?
If you haven't spent time with OS X, you just don't know the difference. I've been using Windows XP since beta 2, crash free mind you, but I'm not so blind with OS religion to see that OS X has far better UI.
