the return of Intaminrocks

Any one know how steep that lift is, and also i do believe that it turns you on ur back, from the backwards positionm, then flips forward so, basically doing a 180

I think it flips after the drop. But I know you spin during the drop, or thats what it looks like

If X is completed, finished testing, and operating consistantly by then (crossing my fingers), then I probably will ! :)

What do you mean "AS USUAL?" The first vertical looping coaster. The first 4th dimention. The co-first super invertigo (or as Vekoma calls it, Giant Inverted Boomerang.) Umm... the first B&M named after the Riddler. The first Batman to be painted mainly grey... umm... I'm running out of ideas.

Where other parks get more firsts. SFGAm got the first B&M, first B&M inverted (which is NOT a clone!!!) The co-first B&M speed coaster, the co-first GIB, the first Six Flags in-house woodie, the first Arrow mega-looper. It also has one of the only double-decker carousels (is PGA's taller? I know 1990's Guiness said that one has the world record, but I thought they were identical,) which, not to mention was one of the first of those things.

So, if you should be angry, be angry that as usual SFGAm is getting a first (Deja Vu,) even though it is not the only first of it's kind.

Why can that never happen? *** This post was edited by TrBiggar on 6/6/2001. ***
Was AE the first Intamin woodie?
Okay- I'm visiting SFMM on August 8th and I was wondering what people think about if X will be open by then? What about testing, wont that talk forever? I mean my homepark (SFGAm) Said both Roller Coasters (Deja Vu, V2) would be done mid-late may. Well V2 opened late may and Deja is still being built....Just wondering?
thanks

You're right. So as I see it - you ride in the backwards position (track on bottom) up the lift hill, over the small bump at the top, down the large drop and through the first inversion. Due to the design of the first inversion you come out of it in the forwards position (track on top).

What a wacky coaster. if this works, this coaster is going to be awesome.

I got a question: how do you count inversions on X? Technically, an inversion is when the rider goes from one posision, upside down, and back to that posistion. But, the seats spin independently, so would every time you flip be an inversion, or would just the track have the inversions?

all about PKI
the Beasts` Den
TrBiggar, you left out the first 7 inversion Arrow multi-looper, or at least the biggest and best one, the biggest and best reverse freefall, (I think it was the first one, too.) the biggest and best stand-up, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Magic Mountain almost always gets the very first and/or the biggest and best of EVERYTHING, while the Six Flags parks in Texas usually get nothing but clones and old rides that no one else wants anymore. Even the Titan is nothing but a carbon copy of Goliath with an extra helix thrown in. If we ever got ANYTHING that was 100% original again, before anyone else in the world got something similar or exactly the same, I'd probably faint from the shock! Texas simply does NOT break any world records anymore, and in the rare event that we actually do get something that has a record breaking or unique feature of some kind, like SKC, it's ALWAYS something that has been done before, or has a mirror twin or a similar version somewhere else in the world, and there's always something missing that makes it less than spectacular compared to the coasters in the rest of the world too. Case in point: Superman Krypton Coaster. It's the fastest floorless in the world, but one of only two that feature LESS than 7 inversions, and of course it was installed a year AFTER some other park in a much smaller state got the very first one. I keep hearing all this CRAP about how other parks get better rides because they're located in more densely populated areas, and yet I live in the 4th largest city in the nation, which happens to be in the second largest state in the union, and we have ZERO 7 inversion coasters, ZERO record breakers, ZERO one-of-a-kinds, and ZERO first-of-its-kinds, with the exception of only a small handful of ancient rides whose technology became obsolete about 20 years ago! Even our fastest rides are at least 10mph below the world record for top speed, and our tallest rides are at least 50ft below the world record for height! And they say that EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas! HA! Not when it comes to roller coasters it isn't! We have the largest collection of some of the lamest rides in the world. That's about the only claim to fame that we have left. And here in Houston, it's the absolute WORST. So much for the population density theory! If that were really true, shouldn't AstroWorld have gotten a brand new first-of-its-kind record breaking coaster by now? There's only 3 other cities in this country with more people living in them than the population of Houston, and yet NO world class rides EVER get built here anymore! We haven't gotten a new coaster since 1999, and of course the last one, out first NEW ride in at least 10 years, was a CLONE, and the last five "new" coasters that we got were all USED! Even our "new" freefall ride is a used ride! And you wonder WHY I'm angry at Six Flags for spoiling practically every single park that it owns OUTSIDE of Texas to death? FURIOUS is more like it! Another case in point: SFOT's 40th anniversary "treat", the Titan. Our gift of gratitude for the ORIGINAL Six Flags park, which is 40 years old this year. Meanwhile, Magic Mountain's TREAT for OUR 40th anniversary is not one, not two, but THREE new roller coasters, one of which has one-of-a-kind vertical drops for that type of coaster, and the other of which is the very first coaster of its type in the world. Nevermind that Magic Mountain is about 10 years younger than SFOT, by all means, California DESERVES to have even more record breakers and first-of-its-kinds than it already does, while the people of Texas merit nothing more than a carbon copy of what Magic Mountain got LAST YEAR, with one tiny improvement. WHOOPIE! I feel SO special! This is the thanks that the people of Texas get for making Six Flags the multi-billion dollar corporation that it is today. No wonder they try their very best to prevent anyone from contacting their corporate headquarters directly! If they welcomed feedback from the public, the angry letters of complaints from the people of Texas would require 20 semi trucks to be delivered to their mailbox! Six Flags needs to remember their roots, and start spoiling the people of this state like they do everyone else, but they could care less about us anymore. We gave them enough of our hard earned money to take on the big guns, and now that they're the largest chain of amusement parks in the world, they could care less about the people who got them there! They're much too busy pampering their precious Magic Mountain to care about US! Nevermind that SFOT is the ORIGINAL Six Flags park, Magic Mountain is "the crown jewel" of ALL the Six Flags parks! They haven't even owned that park for half as long as they've owned SFOT, and they have the NERVE to say things like that? I think I have a right to be MAD! Texas deserves MUCH BETTER rides and coasters than what Six Flags has been building for us! Magic Mountain was NOTHING when they bought it. It was just a simple mom & pop operation with only THREE coasters in it, but ever since Six Flags acquired it, they've been treating it like the absolute cream of the crop, while the Six Flags parks in Texas have gotten almost NOTHING but used rides, clones, and obsolete technology, if they got anything at all! Six Flags is giving Texas the shaft, BIGTIME!

Irondraggon:
1987: PKI builds Vortex, the first Arrow mega looper with 6 loops.
1988: SFGAm builds Shockwave, the first Arrow mega looper with 7 loops.
1989: SFGAdv builds Great American Scream Machine, the second mega looper with 7 loops.
1990: SFMM builds the third mega looper with 7 loops.
I've never heard of a record for the first biggest coaster or the first best coaster, but I'm sure it would have been built before 1990.

And if you were going off subject, and just trying to give a "biggest coaster" award to Viper, remember that sure it's the tallest of the 3(4 including Vortex), but for biggest in terms of length, it's beaten out by Shockwave.
In terms of biggest as space taken up, it's probably bigger too.
S:TE is a co-first reverse freefall, with the Giant Drop in Australia.

Well you know what I mean. Magic Mountain ALWAYS gets something that breaks at least ONE world record, and although other parks besides Magic Mountain get record breakers, one-of-a-kinds, first-of-its-kinds, etc, they are NEVER built in Texas anymore! We may be tied with Ohio for the most roller coasters in one state, but ours are hardly anything revolutionary, and they're certainly not UNIQUE! Even our best woodie is little more than a big pile of obsolete lumber now, just like Colossus and Mean Streak! (The latter of which is VERY similar to the Texas Giant, by the way!)

What's this non-sense have to do with "Weird news about X?" Were talking about the way the seats are on the ride, guys. BTW Iron Dragon, I'm sure Jeff would appreciate you deleting some of those extra returns at the bottom of your posts.

I would also appreciate it if you broke up your posts into paragraphs and try to avoid run-on sentences. It's very difficult to read stream-of-consciousness posts.

After this ride comes out, the definition for an inversion will probably have to be redefined. It isn't really defined right now anyways. What do you guys think the definition is?

Am I the only one that found irondragon's rants absolutely hilarious?!? I kept scrolling down and thought I would never reach the end of his post...and there's TWO of 'em....more to the point, that must take a lot of time to type.
