Website general questions please answer?

Just two questions on something I am uncertain...

1) What is someone's scoring game and what criteria goes with it to give the user a number?

2) Is there a track record for amusement parks? Obviously there is one for roller coasters someone has been on, but is there one for parks somebody has visited?

2) No. Well, yes, there is, but you can't really see it yet.

And don't take the scoring game seriously at all. Some of the most valued and well respected contributors around here have basically no scoring game points. What really matters more is the quality of your contributions and the longevity of your stay rather than talking just to talk. Pretty soon, you'll figure out who's been around and is worth listening to.

Exactly. And more proof of this is that one of the least valued and ill-respected contributors is in 2nd place.

OK, I'll admit to looking to see who was #2. Self-deprecation goes a long way.

The voting game is an ingenious way to get people to post quality posts, and to contribute photos and news stories. The more value you add to the site, the more "prestigious" your position in the game. It's a very long race. ...Unless you aren't very competitive.

I like it. I think it adds value to people's actions on here.

I disagree, as I am clearly awesome, yet I am perilously hanging on to my top 10 position while the jackass in 2nd place doesn't even know how to spell.

If you sold your soul to win the Coasterbuzz scoring game, you're doing it wrong.

If you're going to enter into a "Faustian bargain" - make it worth your while. Get something better than "points"....unless you're getting them from Chris Hardwick.
