Weather Reports

I went to a coaster website recently and noticed that they had a small box at the bottom of the page, probably no bigger than the text field I am posting this here message in, which contained the Sandusky weather report (obviously, it was a CP oriented site) plus a small box where you could enter another ZIP code or city name to get another weather report.

Since a good majority of us Buzzers try to plan their trips around a fair weather day, I think it would be an asset to the site to include this little box at the bottom of the main page or on a separate link.  And since weather.com has so many freakin' pop-up ads and loads so slowly, it would be less of a hassle for Buzzers looking to catch a good day to hit their favorite parks.  What does everybody think?  When I find the site with the weather.com box on it, I'll post the URL.

Its a pretty god idea but I dont think it would happen because it is too much of a hassle.

What do you know about what is a hassle for me?

I'd have to go look at TWC's interface. It used to be that you could only link to them via zip. I think now you can do it be city, which would be easy to do since cities are in the park records.

Of course, that doesn't mean I have time to check. ;)

OK, after examining the weather.com website, it appears that you merely have to register on the site, then give your username and password and I assume they'll give you the HTML code to use the "weather magnet" (the box I referred to) free of charge.  I still haven't been able to find the magnet on an actual site (my TIFs and history erase after one day) but when I do, I'll give more info...

I have such a "magnet" on GTTP, but I don't remember how it works. Keep this in mind... the park pages in this site are all the same page, just populated with the data that pertains to a particular park. If some of that data can be dumped into some part of the TWC's HTML to get the right city, then it's all good.

I have one on my Cedar Point site... I checked the code for the magent and it looks like it is still by zip. But I did see a small code(from a html site) that turns a city name into a zip code.

Jeff--

And that, of course, requires time...

I have the Weather Magnet on my web site, and in the box at top, it says "Enter A City or US Zip".  In the main box, it has the weather in the city that you signed it up for.
