Waterslides on Junkyard Wars in backround.......

I was watching the show yesterday and they were testing vehicles that pick up garbage. Im sure it was in a parking lot of a theme park because in the backround there was a lot of waterslides. Did anyone see this episode or know about any park that participated. uh....... does anyone know what park this was at!?

Out of the coasters i've ridden here is wat i rank them overall:(ive been to canobie lake and SFNE)
1. S:RoS 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Riverside Cyclone 4. Canobie Corkscrew 5. Thunderbolt 6. Galaxy 7. Mind Eraser 8. Dragon coaster 9. poison ivy's tangled
I also saw this episode last night.  I would assume that this park is somewhere in England because the host was the British host and he is only on the episodes that are filmed in England I think.

Not necessarily so. Some of the episodes were filmed in LA. Could have been Raging Waters in San Dimas. I didn't see the episode so I'm not sure.

I saw the show and it definately wasn't Raging Waters, I live near it and I can assure you that those slide weren't at Raging Waters.

Its probably some water park in England because it was a England episode with the England host, also It is probably very hard to tell because a lot of water parks probably look similar to that.

All the cars in the junkyard were left hand drive and english so I doubt they would transport a whole English Scrap Heap to LA. It was filmed in england I am sure.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?
I have been an avid viewer of Junkyard Wars/Scrap Heap Challenge for 2 years now, and I can tell you that it's somewhere in England. I can tell the differences in the LA and UK junkyards.... I have waaay too much free time...

Hey, next time they ask for challenge submissions, let's all suggest that they build a drop tower or some type of carnival ride.
Or better yet, a rollercoaster! (2 day special)

We could force them to build something (heck, ANYTHING) from the wreckage that remains from WindJammer....maybe allow them to construct something ride-able out of DF?...

The street sweepers show WAS filmed in the UK. One dead giveaway was the "Scrapheap Challenge" banner on the parking lot. What we see in the USA as "Junkyard Wars" is actually a program which originated in the UK as "Scrapheap Challenge." Discovery Networks picked up the original UK series and aired it as Junkyard Wars. Now there are two separate productions of the show going on. Scrapheap Challenge is still being produced in the UK, and Junkyard Wars is being produced in the USA. This is why they have all those hosts (particularly since the first US host proved not to be particularly good at it). Cathy Rogers is the show's creator, producer, and co-host for both versions, Robert Llewellyn is the co-host of Scrapheap Challenge, George Gray was the co-host of the first US series, and Tyler Harcott was the co-host of the most recent US series.

Because of simultaneous production, the episodes that aired in November that culminated with the Mega-Wars episode, were part of the most recent US series, shot in California. The episodes airing now are the most recent UK series, shot in the UK. TLC refers to this as "Season 6" although in reality it's UK Season 4. So it's something like this:

TLC Season...is really...
1 Scrapheap Season 2
2 Scrapheap Season 3
3 Junkyard Season 1
4 Scrapheap Season 1
5 Junkyard Season 2
6 Scrapheap Season 4

(I can't find an episode guide for old seasons, so I may be off slightly. But you should get the idea.)
The point is, Scrapheap is still shot in the UK junkyard, the Street Sweepers show was a Scrapheap episode, and therefore, those waterslide towers were NOT in California.

Junkyard Wars is one of two television shows I make a concerted effort to watch each week. Unfortunately, the other is "Rocky and Bullwinkle" which has been donnikerized to 3:30am Sundays.
Damn you, Cartoon Network!! Scooby Doo ten times a day, Rocky and Bullwinkle once a week in the middle of the night. Sheesh!

Rideman, you're  the definative source of all geek knowlege! I am awed. I thought there had t o have been some eps filmed in the states and some here and yeah I hate that one guy. what a goof. all my friend slove that show. I can say you are not alone in havin that show as one of your few or only must watch shows. another give away as to where its filmed are the vehicles. you aren't going to see as many SUVs and huge pickup trucks in england as in the states. but I am glad cathy is a host for both versions. if it were fo rher got on;y knows who would have been the other cohost for the american version. ::shudders imagining (sp?)the posibilities::

You need a TiVo or a Replay TV (my vote goes to the Replay, especially the new, networkable ones).

I love my Replay TV. The Simpsons are on anytime I want to watch ! No more missing the coaster shows either. You can get the old-style Replay TVs on eBay, or if you are really lucky, on closeout / refurb / open box at stores. I got my originaly $699 unit for $299 w/ a 3 year service plan. Best of all, there are no subscription fees for the Replay TV units. I actually see the value in watching TV again now.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze

Whoops! Unless I'm terribly mistaken, this week's show is in the same series as last week's show, and they claim that they're testing in Northern California. I suspect that they are NOT hauling the junk contraptions halfway around the world for test, so it's looking like I was mistaken about last week's show.
In other words, apparently those waterslide towers could be ANYWHERE, and California is looking, in spite of my protestations to the contrary, more and more likely.....
