Wacky Worlds - 50 new ride types!

Wow! expansion pack info at RCT station

http://rct.ogresnet.com/index.shtml

I would love to be more excited...

However I am afraid it may all be a trick. Such as saying we had a ton of new coasters in RCT2 when in fact they just split car types...

I hope it is genuinly 50 new rides though. I hope the amount of scenery allowed increases...

Even if many of them are variations on existing rides, there have to be at least some totally new rides out of 50. 50 variations on existing rides would be an insult to the customer.
It sounds like we've got a winner coming our way in a couple of months, didn't anyone else notice that the new scenery elements are gonna be based on real landmarks around the world but it looks like the SF liscense isn't gonna be in this one?,however it seems that there will be 21 new scenario's based on real world parks.

Now all we need are some screens to go along with the update,as for new rides I just hope that we can get some new flats & a few new coasters as well as a return of the boosters on all steel coasters.

That is really really cool. Now we can make theme parks based on countries, like BGW. I've already preodered my copy.
But i dont believe the 250 new game improvements. We could always use them, though. :)

Wow this is awesome news. 50 new ride types? Thats gotta be like at least 20 or so new rides because I'm sure there are improvements to existing rides. Uhh Pleeeeease let there be alot of flats!!!!

Yeah my homepark is in Albany, NY but I always have 12 hours to go to The Point!

Large Corkscrews, giant half loops on B&M flyers, MORE FLATS!

YES! I cant wait for this! Looks very cool. I really hope that they have improvements on types of coasters such as banked drops for corkscrews, vekoma inverted, ect. It would also be really cool if they got in more coaster types and FLAT RIDES!! Like RCT MASTER said, I would also love giant corkscrews!
RCT MASTER, your post is very misleading. It says nowhere about larger corkscrews, giant flyer half loops and more flats.

The only difference between stupidity and genius is genius has limitations.

He meant that's what he wants in the expansion. I guess he could have posted that here. Whatever floats your boat.

The only reason I replied like that is his post gets people's hopes up, and then dashes them to pieces when they find out they may not be in the game anyway. He could have always just put "I would like to see..." in front of it.

Oh geez who cares. I am definatly looking forward to the expansion and hoping that the information above is true.

Coaster count:32
top3 wood:Boulder Dash, Wildcat, Thunderhawk
top3 steel: Steel Force, Nitro, S:ROS@ SFNE

Sounds good. Let's see it happen.

Hmmm. Something that struck me when reading that.

"50 new ride types from around the world"

Isn't that an odd line? Especially the "from around the world" part. I think a lot of you may be pissed when this comes out. I have no inside info or anything, but that line is really worded in a "marketing" way. Here's what I think:

The obvious theme of this add-on is different "worlds" - with the theming inclusions of famous landmarks from across the globe. Could the 50 "new" rides just be themed variations of the existing rides? Now instead of a "carousel" you can choose the "Russian Carousel" or the "Italian Carousel" or the "Chinese Carousel" each with a different look and graphics - see where I'm going with this? Another example would be the Snow Cups ride that was added to RCT 2. Think of that as a teacup ride with "arctic" theme. Maybe the "Chinese Cups" would have a pagoda in the middle with a more elegant cup design to ride in or the "Parisian Cups" would have an Eiffel Tower centerpiece.

Basically instead of colors, we now have the option to choose a "theme" for many of the flat rides. This keeps programming to a minimum, the only addition was new sprites for the differently themed ride and most importantly they were able to add the line "50 new ride types from around the world" to the box.

Just a theory...

Hey fatkat61 we have the same B-day a few years apart I assume. I'm with LordGonchar I don't trust the 50 new rides claim either. BatwingfanSFA also said there'd be park recreations from around the world. I believe it said senarios from around the world which would mean, in Chris Sawyer terms, building parks in downtown Paris or London ect. Maybe we'll get some real world parks including Six Flags but I doubt it.

Gonchar, while your theory is as good as anybody else's, I hope they are including that under the "250 game improvements." I'm hoping Chris has something good up his sleeve and is really going to please the customer this time, not have another cheap shot like he did with the seperation of ride vehicals in RCT2. We'll find out before too long.

I don't know if I like this idea of landmark theming. I mean, there aren't any parks that are actually built around landmarks. I would have liked to see some more realistic objects with more uses. I would guess there will only be a few more flat rides again this time, because it hasn't been that long since RCT2 came out, and with all these new theming objects Chris is making, I don't think he will have time to make lots of flat rides.
I wonder if it's a possibility that among the new features added will be a scenery editor/creator? I'm sure that CS is well aware that players have developed tools & methods for creating custom theme objects & importing them into the game,so perhaps that might be added as well.

To an extent CS implemented two of the biggest things we asked for in RCT2 which are the scenario editor & track designer outside of the scenario,so maybe he'll implement a scenery creator into RCT2WW.
