Viper's legacy lives on...

Viper (the one from SFOG) is being relocated to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom for the 2003 season! It lives!

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

Thank God. I thought we were losing another Schwartzkopft to the metal shop...

I mean, they tore out SFoG's Viper, WoF's Zambezi Zinger, then announced for the removal of Whizzer (which is here to stay still!), and are now dismantling SFAW's Texas Tornado. :(

...and who ever said that Kentucky Kingdom was getting neglected??

Quite a few actually. You'll find them hiding in badger dens right about now.

Yay, more good news!

I have a thought: If you notice, this and the mine train going up at The Great escape (Rock N Roller Coaster) are both used rides. I think Six Flags wised up to the fact that they can rebuild a defunct coaster and please the public, and get literally the same results with spending only a small portion of money relocating rather than completely buying something new.

It really seems as though they don't see a need in putting money towards some of their smaller parks, but they do notice he neglect, and want to do something worthwhile with out spending a fortune on a NEW major attraction.

Awesome ! KK finally gets a suitable (and I'm sure in most everyone's opinion a better) replacement for the defunct Vampire (boomerang), AND I'll get a chance to revisit the Tidal Wave (my first looping coaster) !! :)

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze

I wonder if they'll work out a way to wrap the loop around the Damn Bridge...

Well I thought *this* was a no brainer from the moment that it was announced to be leaving SFoG (check the archives if you dont believe I said it then). And seeing as though many of you seem to think that SFI has "no brains"...well there you have it!

Awesome move! I now get to ride the coaster I was *intending* to ride 10 years ago (Long Live B:TR)

Yay! It's getting closer to me!
Is this in any way a "real" confirmation? Not naysaying, just curious...I swore on my grandmother's grave that I would never revisit SFKK. If this is true, guess she'll be spinning ;)

I have a feeling alot of Chicago area enthusiasts (that were old enough to ride Viper/Wave when it was at SFGAm), will be making pilgrimages to Kentucky next season.

I know I will be gracing the Blue Grass state. :)

Not to bash Viper or anything, but does anyone see the irony of SFKK removing the Vampire a few years ago, only to replace it with an older shuttle loop a few years later?

We all know its a better ride, but will the public buy into it?

Don't forget to vote for your favorite wooden coasters @ http://www.geocities.com/wcoasterpoll - the polls are open until November 30th!

"Woo! It be one o' dem dere LAUNCHED rides!"

Most of SFKK's customers won't make any connection with the Vampire at all. Besides, they never rode the Vampire anyway.

Same footprint as an Impulse, but without those nasty height restriction problems, eh?

Well...most SFKK customers probably can't make the connection between Lola and Stella either ;)
