I liked the management in RCT. It wasn't hard to beat, but there was just enough depth that you had to pay attention. Mostly it was just the placement of workers to manage puke, vandalism and ride maintenance, but it was part of the rigor of every scenario.
Yeah, there'll surely be a sandbox mode.
I dig the idea of keeping behind the scenes stuff behind the scenes. One thing I always marveled at as a kid going to Kings Dominion every year was that it was a magical place...and things like service roads and buildings were pretty well concealed (not to the level of Disney, of course) from the public.
I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to game development, so...
Do the screenshots they're providing represent what the finished product will look like in terms of graphics? I'm sure there will be some polishing, but is this just dummy art used to make sure the game functions properly, or is this more or less what it will look like?
They have said a number of times that what you see isn't necessarily what you will get. That's the interesting thing about developing it in the open as they are, which is something of an expectation these days if you fund your project on Kickstarter. In modern software development, it's also the "right" way to do it. You just have to train your stakeholders to understand that there's a lot of placeholder stuff involved, and that you're mostly looking for feedback on whether or not the feature is what they really want.
I could show you the next version of CoasterBuzz, and you'd be like, WTF?
Been a couple of months and it's still looking like a blast.
I'm really liking the path tracking of park guests.
